Never ever ever play Highland Woods on the weekend unless you're willing to spend six hours on a round. The course lets groups out in very short intervals, the starter disappears at noon and not one single employee cares a bit about the guest experience.

I come out to Palm Springs every year for a week and manage to play Indian Canyons South two or three times each visit. The course is spectacular, the holes are fun and challenging, and the staff his helpful and friendly. The greens had been aerated but it was still a remarkable experience, and it's always a thrill to par the beautiful 9th hole. I'd play this course every day if I could.

Escena is one of my favorite courses in the Palm Springs area for its layout, course conditions and value. You'll get to swing every club in your bag and test your course management skills. Great greens and well-designed holes.

Way out at the edge of the Chicago metro area is one of the best courses in the state. Blackstone is absolutely worth the trip out to Marengo. The course is beautiful, with challenging yet fair holes that demand the use of every club in your bag. I'd play this track again in a moment.

This course lulls you into a false sense of security with the first three holes, which are not challenging, then surprises you with back-to-back par 4s that test your ability to hit it straight down the fairway. Wide fairways (in many cases) provide bailout room for the high-handicapper, but at least six of the holes offer a tight tree-lined test.

A Monday afternoon round here took almost six hours. The rangers let groups out what seems like every seven minutes, and do nothing to move groups along. We waited on every shot. The par-threes all had five groups on them--one on the green, one waiting at the tee, and three sitting in line waiting for their turn.

Steeple Chase offers some great and memorable holes.

What was worse than unmowed tee boxes? Unmowed fairways. Drives to the middle of the fairway had to be searched for in ankle-deep rough. Poorly maintained, dreadful greens and impossible rough.

We come to Palm Springs each summer to play golf and look forward to our rounds at Indian Canyon South. A fun but challenging course that never fails to satisfy.

I like Starfire a lot; the course is fun and several of the holes are a good challenge. The pace of play could be better, but the staff is friendly and the greens are true.
