Dry conditions made some fairway shots difficult, but I love this course layout. Hope the conditions will be better next winter.

Sarasota National was as good as expected with a friendly staff at every part of the day from check in , a friendly starter, to lunch , and friendly and efficient bag boys. The day was our final round in Florida and it was perfect.

We took advantage of a Golfnow special deal and enjoyed 18 holes of golf. The Marsh nine was spectacular. The Creek nine which is my favorite was not in as good of shape, but it was nice. The management of our pace of play was excellent. We played a four hour round with our foursome.

Even under these extremely dry conditions, Magnolia Landing provided a challenging and entertaining round of golf for our foursome. The greens were fast and smooth. We were fortunate to have been placed behind a threesome and didn't have to wait for any shot. The foursome behind us wasn't seen after hole #1. That was perfect playing pace. The rearrangement of the front nine holes was an excellent move as the course flowed very well from hole to hole. Even in the wind this was a very enjoyable round.

The course was an enjoyable experience. The greens and fairways were in very nice condition. The pace of play was slowed up by one foursome, playing for money. They were about three holes behind the foursome ahead of them by the end of 18. The ranger did say at hole number 4 that he would speed up their play. That did not happen. Other than that 5 hour plus round, the course is a great experience.
