We were welcomed and directed to the practice areas. We played the front nine in one hour and 40 minutes and were enjoying the course layout . As we made the turn we were surprised to see five players on the 10th fairway. Since there were no players behind us , we assumed that we would be waived through . This did not happen . After 2 hours we called the golf shop and were told that the five players were most likely members and "they can be very difficult " .We expressed our displeasure to one of the five players who retreated back to our tee box in search of his golf towel. He seemed not to care about making us wait for every shot on every hole on the back nine , let alone acknowledging the inappropriateness of playing in a group of five . After the round , I stopped in to the Pro Shop to express my displeasure . I was informed that this group had not checked in.....This is no way to encourage outside play. What had started as a very enjoyable round ended with 2.5 hours of waiting for no real reason other than the rudeness of supposed members and the lack of response from the golf shop .

We have played this course twice now exactly a year apart. The conditions were fair last year (3/2018) but it has really fallen apart as of 3/2019. It’s a shame because the course has a fun layout with room on the fairways, a good bit of water (not too much!) and interesting bunkers around the greens. I wish I could post pictures of the grasses growing in the mud-laden bunkers or the weeds growing around the course. It is really a shame.

We arrived to a packed parking lot and practice area. The course was also filled with golfers. I asked the office staff if they were hosting an outing and was told no. While waiting on the first tee , the starter informed us that they had one group of 170 golfers from Virginia who had gone off both the first tee and the 10th tee. It took us a total of 22 minutes to complete the first hole . When we arrived at hole #2 there was a fivesome still waiting to tee off ..At that point we turned around and went to play a Pinehurst course which we finished 18 holes in 3hours and 18 minutes .
