King's Forest Golf Course
Played On 08/30/2021It’s Only Gotten Better
I played here a week ago and found the front nine very dry, well a week later and some rain and it was great. This is one of the best layouts in the province. I was told that it was designed in mind of hosting the Canadian Open and I can see it.
The only negative is in being it’s a municipal course the overall maintenance is lacking in some areas. The tee boxes are fairly flat but chewed up and the traps need work and regular maintenance. Besides those things I wouldn’t change a thing.
I’ll definitely go back!
King's Forest Golf Course
Played On 08/23/2021Well There’s Good and Not So Good
I was really looking forward to playing Kings Forest, heard very good things about it and I’ll definitely return. The track is great! Love the varying elevations, layout, hazard locations, everything!! The employees were very welcoming and friendly. The cost reasonable to me.
Now for the negatives. It is a municipal course, the overall upkeep just isn’t there. The tee boxes are very chewed up with weeds on many. One had a HUGE large bump in the center, the worse I’ve seen.
The front nine was very under watered and the front 9 greens sketchy in areas. Now the back nine seemed like a different course, well watered and the greens were much better. The sand traps were disappointing, better than some courses but a far cry from higher end courses.
Overall a very good experience and will definitely return.
Cholla Course at We-Ko-Pa Golf Club
Played On 04/26/2019I’ve Definitely Had Better Experiences
Ok, the layout is great, with breathtaking views. The course condition was also great. But when I’m paying a premium price at a course besides layout and condition I expect service, to be treated like they’re happy that I chose their course, over the many other options.. I’ve been to many courses, in the area where as soon as i pull up right through to when I am leaving I feel like I’ve been treated like a valued guest. I shouldn’t be feeling like it is I who should be gratefully to playing at their facility.
The person at bag drop, did ask how I was, but after that it seemed like she rather be somewhere else. No direction was given and after numerous minutes I tracked down my clubs. The pro shop person definitely gave me the impression that I should be grateful to be there. The only friendly person I encountered was the starter. Rarely saw a marshal, pace of play was terrible for this caliber and cost of course, 4 hours 45 minutes to play 18.
Supposedly we-ko-pa is rated as one of the top places to play, I say this is because of the layout/conditions, not the staff.
Been there done it.
I wouldn’t recommend this course.
Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge
Played On 04/24/2019A Good Experience
I really enjoyed the layout and condition of the course and will probably return many times. That being said I’m a casual guy and when I was practicing around the range/green I could hear others talking around me and I felt VERY out of place. Myself and my playing partner were the only ones who had untucked shirts. But once out playing had a great experience. Definitely a premium course.
Talking Stick Golf Club - O'odham Course
Played On 04/22/2019One of My New Favourite Courses
First time playing and I will definitely be returning often.
I played the North Course and I have no complaints. I liked the layout, there are a few holes where you have to place your ball for the next shot. I’m sure many golfers would like to “speak” with mr.Crenshaw about #12. Mostly nice wide fairways, some VERY contoured greens. Practice facilities are good, staff excellent.
I’ll be back!

I played here numerous times last year and was not disappointed to return today, so much so that I cancelled a different course ne t week and booked another round here.
Pace of play in April has always been about 4 hrs for me, I have heard it’s slower in March.
The course conditions were excellent, nothing to complain about.
The front nine is good, nothing unusual, but we find that the greens can be very tricky. To me it’s the back nine that stands out to me.
It’s a great course, I’ll keep returning and recommend Silverado to everyone.
Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 04/10/2019Well.........it was interesting.
So, first time at any McCormick course, the temp was in the 70’s but it was windy.
First I’ll say that I enjoyed the course layout, some challenging holes, strategy was involved, the wind added to it.
I found the fairways and greens to be in very condition, the bunkers were playing very firm.
That said it was weird. The lady who checked me in was not friendly, the cart/starting/range people were absent and not very helpful. Being a first time player, every other course I’ve been too has tried to assist me with direction, as to where things are, but not here.
At my tee time I found the first tee box, waited, no one else showed up, so off I went. By the 6th hole I had caught up to a group of five, I was in no rush and started to hit two balls. Then a twosome caught up to me and I joined them. We passed the fivesome at the tenth tee and off we went. Total round took us just over three hours, we never saw another golfer on the back nine. Good conditions and layout, questionable staffing, the Marshall was very friendly though.
Papago Golf Course
Played On 04/08/2019Still One Of My Favorites
I really liked this course last year and it did not disappoint this year either. Excellent condition. The new clubhouse is awesome. It’s nice to have the practice facilities back again too.
Great track, I recommend it to everyone.
Stonecreek Golf Club
Played On 04/05/2019Very Good Course, Do Not Hit To The Right
It was the first course that I played last year and I didn’t really care for it, but this year I’m a bit more consistent and I enjoyed it much more. The course was in very good condition, one trap looked a bit muddy, besides that all good. If you do slice or have a fade to the right, you better bring some extra balls. Definitely more trouble to the right. I’ll be back, good experience.
ASU Karsten Golf Course
Played On 04/03/2019I Wish I Had Played This Course Sooner
First time I played ASU Karsten course and really enjoyed it. Course was in very good condition, especially when you consider that it’s closing in less than 30 days. The first 9 play a bit shorter than many other courses, but using strategy is not a bad thing.
Great prices, condition and layout, it’s a shame it’s days are counting down quickly.
TPC Scottsdale - The Champions Course
Played On 04/16/2018Well That Was Good
I’ve been playing good but more mid level courses, while in Phoenix, until today. I loved tpc Champions Course. The practice facilities are great, as many practice balls as you want. I found all the staff to be very friendly and I loved the course. It was in great shape, the greens were very fast today. I liked the layout, no complaints, Many holes had to be played strategically, due to dog legs, water or strips of the desert running across the holes. Probably 6-7 holes were cart path only but we didn’t find that to be a problem. I had a very reasonable price, it’s starting to slow down, so the rates are com8 g down.
As long as you aren’t bothered by planes you should have a great time. I’m going back next week.
Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club
Played On 04/11/2018This is One of My Favorites
I think this is a great course. Everything is very good, the pace of play has been slow on the front nine, but quickens on the back. I like how wide the fairways are, some courses play too narrow, because of houses built too close. You won’t get that cramped feeling here. Drinking water and restrooms are strategically placed throughout.
The greens played fast and were in excellent shape, when I played.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The marshal could do a bit more to speed up play, but I am in no hurry.
Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course
Played On 10/19/2017One Of My Favorites!
I’ve had the pleasure of playing here five times this season and it has always been a pleasure. The course is excellently maintained. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are the BEST around!
The practice areas are in great shape, however upon arrival for this last round the range was closed for major maintenance.
They also have the best fleet of golf carts I’ve seen, perfect condition and clean.
The only negative thing I can say @ Hickory Sticks is I found it disappointing that they use frozen burger patties and fries in their dining room. The clubhouse is very nice, I expected everything to carry over into the dining room, which looked great and had friendly staff too. Every other course I’ve been too puts the extra effort into their basic foods too, hand made patties, fresh cut fries, etc...
I plan to definitely play at least three rounds here every year!
