Gulf Shores Golf Club
Played On 06/12/2023Nice course
Course is good condition as usual. Always have enjoyed playing here each vacation.

Kind of surprised they allowed a walk-in to push me of off my tee time that I had reserved AND prepaid three days prior.
Could have shown my hind quarters, but I’m on vacation, so what’s time!
West Pines Golf Club
Played On 06/17/2022Best in the West!
Best public course in West GA.
Fairways and tee boxes are great, greens are fast and roll true.
The only ‘ping’ on the course would be some hole plugs. If you happen to get an old plug in your line, no good.
Gulf Shores Golf Club
Played On 06/19/2022My go to course each year
Fairways are great. Tee boxes are good. Greens roll true. Only a few greens with some bare spots, but did not come into play.
Staff is always friendly and helpful.
West Pines Golf Club
Played On 02/27/2021Great value
Hard to beat for the cost. Greens were a little slower than normal, but understandable with the weather.
They do a great job keeping the playing conditions as good as possible through the winter.
Creekside Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/24/2020Such great potential
The course provides a unique layout. Could be a great course if it was brought into shape.
Greens were in OK condition. It is likely about time to punch the greens. They were a little 'furry' and slow. Would not be so terrible if us golfers would repair our divots.
Fairways were in good shape as well.
The course needs serious cleanup. Several trees and rough that should not be in play has overgrown to become obstacles.
The driving range is only a place to hit some well used range balls into a field. No way to know if you are hitting your distances.
All this stated, the staff is very friendly. If not for the friendliness of the staff rating would have been lower.
Really wish someone would get this course cleaned up.
Cider Ridge Golf Club
Played On 10/20/2019Nice course - poor grouping management
Course was in great shape considering the amount of rain during the previous days. Challenging course. Requires strategic play. The main issue is that this appears to be run like a good ole boys club. I had an afternoon to grab a round and decided to try Cider Ridge again since I had not played there in about a year. Being a single, I arrived 1hr 15m early with hopes to be paired up with less than a four-some. I asked at check-in if I could or would be paired with another group, and was told that there were no slots available. Ended up teeing off behind a group of 5, and in front of a two-some. The group of 5 allowed me to play through on hole 4. I then caught up with another two-some. It could be that they do not look kindly on people who grab Hot Deals.
It's a great course if you want a challenge. Just be prepared if you are not a local, that you will not receive consideration to make your round an enjoyable one.
Gulf Shores Golf Club
Played On 07/28/2019When in Gulf Shores...
I play this course every year when we visit Gulf Shores. Course and greens in great shape as usual. Staff is very friendly.
The Frog at the Georgian
Played On 06/03/2019Really like The Frog...wish it's members did
Great course layout. Provides a lot of risk/reward. Placement in the fairways and the greens are key to scoring well.
Fairways are in great shape. Bunkers are okay and the greens were a little hairy, but they rolled true. (little slow) Probably getting to be that time of year for a green punch.
Tee boxes are kid of thin as others have mentioned, but the weather here has provided challenges I'm sure.
*Only reason for 4 stars* What surprises me is that the members (or those who play regular) do not repair divots on the greens! Maybe The Frog should add $1 to green fees and give every player a divot tool when they play? Play a video on the golf cart on "how to repair divots"? Still, it won't fix lazy...
All this said, I still highly recommend The Frog. You will not be disappointed. Beautiful course. Great layout.
Cider Ridge Golf Club
Played On 10/21/2017Challenging but fun
All were friendly and helpful, staff and golfers. The course is very nice. Greens rolled true. The course becomes a true golf shot course as you progress. Their are a few elevation holes that really make club selection difficult without having previously played. I will definitely return to this course. Very glad we finally decided to play Cider Ridge.
Creekside Golf & Country Club
Played On 10/12/2017Course condition
Should have been stated that only 9 holes were open.
Had to play the back 9 twice. The only good part of the day was getting to play 18 twice.
Greens were sanded so heavy that speed was about 5.
I wanted to thank you for taking the time to review the course. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your time at Creekside on the 12th. Our maintenance schedule was a little thrown off the past 2 months due to the hurricane and a few other reasons. We apologize that you didn't have the best time but we did try to let every one know what we were doing as well as we did reduce rates for that day. We would love for you to give us another chance. My name is Stephen Ruffing and I am the General Manager at Creekside. Feel free to reach out to me and I can talk to you a little more and hopefully earn back your trust in us.
Glenlakes Golf Club - Vista/Dunes Course
Played On 07/11/2016Ignore the members - enjoy your round
Course is in great condition. Greens roll true and quick. Dunes somewhat challenging. Ball placement is key. Know where water comes in to play. Many members are anti-public and spend their rounds playing speed golf to push whoever is in front. Then call club to sick the ranger on you. Playing in a foursome teeing off on 10th at 1 hr 45 min and they were still sicking the ranger on us. We finally told him to stuff it. To his credit, he came back to us at 13 and apologized for his demeanor and being incorrect in trying to push us. Forgive and forget! To members, if you want a total private course, pay more dues so your club can stay open without us vacationers. Otherwise, just enjoy your course as we are attempting to do.
Creekside Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/23/2015Needs a little TLC
Only stating would recommend for deep discount due to current course conditions. Staff is friendly as are other golfers.
Course is somewhat tight as I had remembered. Fairways are OK for the most part. Most bunkers I consider unplayable. Only ended up in one that I can recall. Some of my playing partners landed in a few. A couple of times the ball rolled through the bunker and back to the fairway. A few greens were good. The majority, however, are 40% burned to gone. A couple of greens were not even worth trying to putt.
Good thing I was paired with a group that knew the course. No hole layout on scorecard. Water hazzards hidden (blind shot) on many holes.
Would have been disappointed if I had paid more than half price for the round.
Thanks for playing and the greens are coming along. 40+ days of 90+ heat really knocked them for a loop! After we aerated we are looking better each day!
Thanks again!
Lost Key Golf Club
Played On 6/29/2013Nice but challenging
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
I play this course each year I come to the gulf for vacation. The course is in the best shape I have seen it in the past 3 years.
Very challenging and not at all friendly to stray shots.
If you have not played this course, use the tips on the scorecard to guide you through each hole.
All of the greens are very protected by water and sand. All seem to be almost plateau greens. If you miss around the green, expect to be chipping from 20-25ft below the green.
Hint: if you cannot see a landing area do not try it unless you are absolutely certain it is an open area. You take what this course gives you.
Nice course. If you are looking for a challenge, you have found it.
Lion Golf Club
Played On 12/23/2012Hate to see her go...
Had to play The Lion at least one more time should it not be saved from shutting down 12/31/12. If they had only advertised this course and appreciated its members more I believe it would have thrived.. Hardly any golfer has heard of this course outside of the immediate West Ga area. What a shame! Members did not advertise most likely from frustration of no real member benefits. (FYI. I am not a former member as it was more cost effective to not join) I will miss the memorable 16th (par 3) and challenging 18th (par 5)
Super course! Great challenge!
Hello, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. Thank you for choosing Creekside Golf & Country Club. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time!
