Bank holiday 2 ball

Booked this based on the reviews and we weren’t disappointed!

Bit of a strange start as I played at the wrong marker (18th), instead of following to the left of the road for the first 4 holes.

Really warm welcome and well stocked pro-shop. One of the most interesting courses I’ve played and even in the drizzle, the views are amazing!

Plenty of blind holes and to be honest, some could do with a bell, as takes a while to see the group in front. 4th has a really interesting hazard that of course I found! Have to cross a busy road twice which kept us alert.

Fairways and greens are in great nick, tees could do with a bit of tlc.

Would love to play again and perhaps take in Cavendish as well.

Early morning tee off

Booked this as a last minute tee off for a Sunday morning round. Tee off at 7:22 for a two ball.
No one at the clubhouse or pro-shop (understandably) at that time. Superb putting green and there are two warm up nets, couldn’t see a range.
Nice easy par 4 opening hole, greens are some of the best I’ve played on (I’d rate 9/10), fairways needed a cut and a bit more attention (5/10) and tees again needed attention (6/10). Surprised at the fairways and tees as the greens really are sublime.
Loved the course layout, some really interesting holes. There is the strangest SI 18 par 3 I have ever seen, around 250 yards, blind tee shot with a direction post at @ 150 yards. Turns out you hit to a sunken ‘amphitheater’ green. Some of the higher handicap golfers will struggle to even reach, let alone hit the green.
Stunning views and not too tough, 17th and par 5 18th are brilliant finishing holes.
Finished by 11am so too early to check out the food and bar, but nipped into the well stocked pro-shop for my essential course ball-marker.
There are some really steep bits, both on the holes and between the tees, so it helps to be fit and agile.
Will definitely love to play it again, we both had a time.

Great condition apart from the tees

This is our chosen course for the weekly 9 hole four-ball after work.

Interesting layout with water directly in play on various holes, not the longest course but the greens are well protected.

Short par 3's and the dog leg ’swampy' 7th is my personal favourite.

Greens are a 7/10

Fairways 7/10

Tees 4/10

Downside are the power cables and pylons that come into play on several holes.

Short practice area (@ 200 yds) and putting green.

Great bar and friendly staff, small car park with additional gravelled parking.

Well worth 18 holes if you get chance as prices are great too!
