Foxglove unplayable

They have a lot of nerve scheduling players on foxglove after several days of rain. Its unplayable. The fairways are wet, the second cut has not been mowed/muddy. Any tee shot 5 orc10 feet off the fairway will more than likely be a completely plugged or lost ball

Best winter course around

Course is usually in great condition all winter. Greens are true and fairly fast.

maintenance staff

While on the tee box on the back nine, the man on the mower cut back and forth diagonally in the fairway. I waited several minutes thinking he would stop and wait like he should. I finally gave up waiting and teed off when he drove within 20 feet of me....... On my approach shot he did the same thing. On the 16th hole I had to wait five or six minutes for another man mowing in front of the green. I guess I should have apologized to the staff for daring to play on their fairways while they were mowing. As far as the course is concerned, if you can't put "Tiger" backspin on the ball, you need to land your approach shots 20 to 30 feet in front of the green. Many are sloped front and middle to back and very fast. Nearly impossibly to hold. I'm an 8 handicap and found myself chipping and one putting for any chance of par.

Winter conditions

The course is very playable despite all the rain. A few soggy places, mostly off the fairway. The greens are surprisingly great. Good spoed and they run true. Had my best putting round in a year.

Corse conditions

Quite possibly the best course in the region for winter play. Bunkers are in good shape considering the amount of rain. Greens are always tru, fast, and firm year around.

do not play this course outside of warm dry summer weather

I play golf year around in all kinds of weather including soggy fairways. In 15 years I never played a course this time of year in worse condition. The fairways were extremely soggy, easy for a drive to plug in the middle of the fairway deep enough to completely hide. Thats unavoidable. What is avoidable is telling golfers up front that the grass just off the fairways is soaked and 6 to 8 inches deep and you should expect to lose 15 or twenty balls. Hitting out of soggy grass that deep is nearly impossible. Our play was a bit over 5 hours with the extra hour spent trying to locate balls. Just a reminder, the top tour pros don't keep all the shots in the fairway either. The staff emplyee agreed that golfers should have been told up front about conditions, but said he didn't want to turn away business. Guess What! He just ;lost ours.

play too slow

the pace was excessively slow. two different groups in front bogged the entire course. No marshals to be found. The entire back nine, the food cart girl bypassed us, cutting across fairways. Not a bad round if you're not in a hurry and bring your own food and drink.

beautiful setting/scenery

This is an incredibly narrow course, plan on losing balls unless you hit every shot straight. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition right now. Because this course challenges you to play smart and hit straight it is one of my favorite courses. Stunning scenery adds to the experience.

terrible course

worst fairways I've ever seen in 80 courses. So bumpy the bag falls off the cart several times. Had to borrow a bungy cord from the pro shop. They need to bulldoze the fairways and reseed. All of the bumps also create holes where the ball hides. I'll only play this course if the price is as low as it was yesterdary. 14.00 with a cart for 18.00
