Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club
Played On 03/17/2022Silverado Golf Phoenix
The course has wide fairways and not a lot of trouble areas which helps the pace of play. It is in great shape, though I wonder where they get the water to keep such a large expanse so green as it is green from the tees to the green and from rough to rough. Really they could cut back on a lot of the areas to save water. But, everyone is super nice and accommodating.
Diablo Creek Golf Course
Played On 06/10/2018Be ready to use your fairway woods
Diablo Creek is long and I have to hit a lot of fairway woods. Nothing wrong with that since that isn't so on many courses, but beware if you don't like to hit'em. I play from the whites and hit my drives about 225 yds. Course is in fairly good condition.
Lake Chabot Golf Course - The 18 Hole Course
Played On 06/07/2018Course has several fun holes
Hit the wide fairways and you'll score well. I love playing the numbers 5, 6, 9, 10, 15 and 18 holes.
Franklin Canyon Golf Course

Franklin is not in the best shape, fairway shots find bad lies on areas where the grass is dead. Greens are good and most tee boxes are in good condition.

Franklin is in fairly good shape considering comparisons to other courses of the same price. The course has fun holes with character, meaning, the holes aren't just straight ahead, they require thought.
Lake Chabot Golf Course - The 18 Hole Course

Lake Chabot is a fun course to play. Right now they are working on new irrigation which limits the play on several holes. Hopefully, they'll finish soon and this will improve the course conditions going forward.
Lake Chabot Golf Course - The 18 Hole Course
Played On 08/25/2017Early morning golf at Lake Chabot in Oakland
I was single and the second group off. The two-some in front of me indicated no inclination for me to join them nor to play through until the 14th hole when they were looking for a ball. No big deal, they were playing quickly enough. The course is not in very good shape. The fairways are quite variable, you could have a lie on grass or hard-pan dirt. Greens are good. It's kind of in-line with the 9 hole executive course. The course is so bad I've quit playing it and now the 18 hole course is heading that way, too.
Delta View Golf Course

DV is a fun, challenging course. Compared to some of the "better" courses I've played of late, DV is in as good or better condition. Especially considering the rate. Typically it is windy there, but it makes some of the holes much more fun when it is at your back. Staff is always very friendly.
Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course
Played On 05/27/2014Course is in poor shape and pace is slow.
Two of us teed off at 10:07am intending to play 18 holes. Pace was very slow, it took more than 2.5 hours to play the front where we elected to forget it and go to the beach. Course condition was poor. Fairway tee shots never found grass. The greens were OK and the staff was friendly. I come to Orange County for a week every year and have always played this course at least once. This is the worst experience ever here and I won't be back. Only redeeming value is it was only $33 per player, but I think that is even too much for the current condition.
Papago Golf Course
Played On 03/06/2014Excellent shape and decent price.
Greens were in great condition, fairways good. The price is good compared to the rest of the Valley, but it seemed higher than last year. Paid $61.00 to walk on a Thursday in March. But, because the course condition was improved we were happy.
Skywest Golf Course

Good value for the money. Course is long, but forgiving. Some cool airplanes fly by from the Hayward Airport.
Diablo Creek Golf Course
Played On 8/18/2013Pace of play was great!
We played in just over 4 hours. For a Sunday afternoon that is pretty good. The course is long but with wide fairways and bail out area on most holes.
Redwood Canyon Golf Course
Played On 7/28/2013Pace of play is good.
Teed off at 7:20am and finished at 11:10am. Course is fun to play. For the conditions the cost is about average. Location is beautiful.
Northwood Golf Club
Played On 7/6/2013Slow play, almost 3 hours for 9 holes. Beautiful location and course is in good shape for the price.
I like the location, we have friends in Guerneville, so it's fun to stop here for 9 holes before heading to their place. Price is good, though they tried to charge me $27 instead of the $23 quoted on Golfnow, though we straightened it out without too much effort. Slow play is the big problem, there were 5 groups on the number 2 hole, one on green, one on fairway and 3 on tee box waiting. Seems like this always happens there, so if you go play at Northwood you'd better expect it or you will get very bothered right when your round is getting started.
San Geronimo Golf Club
Played On 2/23/2013Pace of play way too long.
Five and a half hours to play is way too long. No marshal was seen. As far as the course goes, the greens are fast and sloped and bumpy making putting the most difficult aspect. If greens were slower it'd compensate for the sloped greens. There are some fun holes and some difficult ones, overall it's a good layout. Fairways are in good shape.
