Suncrest Golf Course
Played On 10/07/2016Where was the marshal?
The only course condition negative was a recent aeration of the greens. It would have been helpful if that info was provided by GolfNow. The holes and sand provided more of a "Hit and Hope' than a skill experience. The major complaint that I offer is that the course desperately needs a marshal to enforce pace of play rules. I was a single player(low handicap) with a foursome in front. They were playing "Zig-Zap" golf and would spend lots of time looking for lost balls. They never offered to let me play thru.

One of the best courses in West PA. Definitely not for beginners, although there were some on the course.
Pine Grove Golf Course
Played On 09/15/2015Sad!
This 18 hole course is beautiful and not too long. There is a variety of challenges such as forced carry water hazards, trees and green side bunkers. Unfortunately, they have begun to fill in the green side bunkers taking a big challenge from the course. It is sad because this course was a favorite but now will decline in popularity because of the changes.
Cutting maintenance costs may improve the bottom line but revenue may decline faster due to lesser play.
Oakland Beach Golf Club
Played On 08/28/2014Not a premium course
This is a course made difficult because of the slope and pin placement of the greens. The pin placement on #17 was ridiculous, on a steep hill about 5 feet from the edge. Personnel were very welcoming. The fairways were open, but lack the quality of bent grass found on better tracks. Tee boxes were scuffed with numerous divots. The greens had many bare spots covered with sand, were hard and would not hold a high pitch shot. The fairways at first cut needed serious weed control, particularly for clover. Overall not a bad course, just not worth more than a 30 minute drive.
Empire Lakes Golf Course
Played On 03/19/2014Big Surprise
I have been reluctant to play this course for years. The reviews have been poor and the cost high. Yesterday, a bargain appeared on Golfnow so I took a chance. I was blown away. The carts were brand new. The staff was friendly and helpful. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. I was so happy that I took that chance.
My round began after 1 PM and I was in my car by 5 PM. It was a Wednesday, not a weekend day. I would recommend this course to my friends and will not hesitate to play here in the future.
Foxburg Country Club

A challenging nine hole course with narrow fairways, fast greens and lots of hills. Be sure to bring your bug spray, the little black bugs will be in your face.
The greens are tricky to read. Overall, well maintained, but the bunkers need refurbished and new sand.
The Greens of Greenville
Played On 05/16/2013Very accomodating staff
This is an old course(Greenville Country Club) with a new name, The Greens of Greenville. The two pro shop employees were super nice and friendly. The course was well maintained with something for everyone- trees, sand and water.
The greens and fairways are well maintained and present a fair challenge. The fairways could be improved if a weed and feed program were instituted to combat the abundant clover. Overall, an enjoyable course that's easy to find.
