Played On 07/21/2018Beautiful but Challenging - Excellent Conditions
My first time playing the course, I loved the layout and the course was in excellent shape. It is aesthetically beautiful and you see tons of wildlife. We unfortunately had to use Cart Path Only due to extreme amounts of rain for several days prior to our round. The course was certainly wet, but that's not managements fault. It was actually only a problem in the fairway - almost no roll out, and if you hit one fat, it wasn't going anywhere. The rough was lush but not too tough. The second cut of rough around the greens was extremely thick and hard to judge how the ball would come out on your chip shots - you had better hit the green on your approach!
The greens had been punched about 10 days earlier but still rolled pretty quickly, you just get your typical bounce or slight change of direction when hitting a bump - that's just the price we pay in Florida to have great golf courses.
The sand was perfect, even when wet. Everything was manicured to perfection. It is not a terrible difficult course off the tee, its mostly a second shot course with lots of elevated greens and plenty of penalty around the greens for a miss. I would have hit more 3-woods and irons off the tee, but stuck with the driver most of the day because its was so wet and playing long.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone who's handicap is under 20. I will definitely play it again when thing dry out!
My only suggestion would be to drop the price just a tad when it's cart path only and the greens are punched.
