Greens and tee boxes were in poor condition for this time of year. Staff friendly and the food prices were low.

We were lucky to get a hot deal rate for this round. Nice weather, good pace of play. I wish the course had water stations. But that is only a small nitpick.
Reston National Golf Course

Any golf in December is a bonus but the course was in fairly poor condition- mostly due to recent rain. The greens were nice, however, but slow. Overall, a nice layout but rumors are that this course may be closing in a couple of years so they may not be spending the money for proper upkeep.
Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run

Two friends and I played this course in 4 hours on a weekday morning. This was the day after playing another Hilton Head course in 5 1/2 hours the previous afternoon, so that was the best part of this round. We found the course to be in good shape with the greens probably in the best shape and the tee boxes probably in the worst shape. I believe the course was still recovering from the 2016 flooding that must have closed it down. We did not find the staff particularly friendly (nor were they unfriendly). This is in comparison to the staff at the slow round course who had bent over backwards to make it up to us the day before.
Reston National Golf Course

Reston National is an excellent track. I have played there for over 30 years, but only once every year or two these days. Our foursome booked a tee time here yesterday because our home course was closed due to recent snow that was still melting. To be honest, Reston National probably should have been closed too - or at least the back 9. It was very wet and the snow had not melted in some shady areas. That being said, we had a blast playing because of our "cabin fever" from all of the bad weather lately. The staff was super nice.
We regret you were disappointed. Greens transition from winter grass to summer bermuda at this time every year. Tee boxes are one the list for maintenance but can't be done will there is so much demand for golf but will be addressed during the off season.
