As I’ve commented in the past, great layout but conditions are inconsistent.
Suggestions to owners:
- contact Texas A&M and offer paid internships to agronomy majors.
- condition course daily in this order. Greens, tee boxes, bunkers, boxes are overloaded with broken tees and are uneven, bunkers are not all raked and some have large weeds growing in and around.

I love the layout of this course. At one time, this must have been a fantastic club. Currently, the place appears to run on a shoestring and conditions are lacking. Our cart ran out of charge on the 18th fairway, so we just walked the rest of the way. The attendant in the clubhouse barely apologized and we just smiled and left. I wish it was in a better place because the design is so much fun and presents all the challenge you want based on tee selection.

Well, it’s almost all over for Tour 18. I’ll preface this review by saying I’ve played this course numerous times in the past. I was met in the clubhouse by a gum chewing, teenaged girl who could barely be interested in my tee time. $6 for a small bucket of balls you hit off harshly worn Astro turf? No thanks. The course has deteriorated in playing condition to the point of almost unplayability. Several tee boxes are basically all sand. The greens are so hard that even short irons bounce like super balls. It seems like there is a lack of funds available and water is rationed which creates hard and patchy conditions everywhere. Pace of play - there was a group we caught who was - not kidding - dropping 5 balls in the fareway while their 2 year old was running around. Totally oblivious and nobody cycling through the course to move them along. How in the world does this occur on a course where people are paying premium prices? The encroachment of house on the back 9 really detracts from the enjoyability. Finally, I’ll never go back because there are so many other courses at lower prices who exceed this course in every phase. Needs a management and maybe an ownership reboot.

Tremendous layout with multiple tees for every player. It’s not in overall perfect condition (ex. some bunkers are in need of care), but the greens are as good they’ve been in a while. I pay $12 plus fees and $5 cart fee since I was a single and that’s a bargain. The ladies working the check in are wonderfully nice. It’s evident the owners have renewed efforts to improve course conditions and that’s great.

I know I'll regret encouraging an increase of traffic, but it's the right thing to do. The layout is outstanding with challenges and options for every level of player. For the most part, the conditioning is very good, especially for the fees. I mostly enjoy the serenity of the place. I understand the surrounding housing development will encroach eventually but for now...just go enjoy a very unique round. If I lived closer, it would be s no brainier to be a member.
