We went the 1st week of March, and were happy to get out. The pace of play was good; we didn't have to wait. The course was seeded, and it hadn't rained, so it was brown everywhere, except the greens.

This was to be expected for the time of year, and you could see they were getting it ready.

I liked it. I would play again.

My son and I played the front 9 on the Egret course Tuesday evening. We are from PA, and come to NC each year. I try to play here each year because it is a terrific course.

Even with all the challenges this year with covid, and the hurricane, the course was in great shape. Very nice layout, with some beautiful surroundings.

The rough is very thick grass, so getting the ball out can be challenging, and the greens were very fast due to the time of day. These are not complaints, just an accurate description of the course.

Tee boxes, fairways, all great shape. I have played here quite a few times, and always feel it is worth the money to play here. Friendly staff also. I highly recommend playing here if you can.

I took my son with me to this course for the first time on 7/16. We both enjoyed the round. Here are the plus/minus experiences of the course:

1) Nice, long fairway views. The course has some good scenic holes.
2) Greens were in nice shape. They play slow, but they were all consistent. I enjoyed making the putting adjustment to the faster greens we normally play on.
3) Extra features of the cart, such as GPS, electronic scoring, etc.
4) Not a ton of hazards. I play maybe once a week, so the less hazards the better!

Minus:
1) Tee box area ground was so hard that I could barely get a tee placed in them.
2) Tough to tell the fairway grass from the rough in a lot of areas. Mowing could be improved a little.
3) As has been stated before by others, drainage in certain areas of the course is poor. Some areas were extremely soggy, even though it had not rained when we had played

I would recommend playing, with a caveat: if you are getting a good price on the round. I could not recommend if you are paying over $25, though. It was fun for our first time, but if you are paying more for a round, some may be disappointed with the value perceived.

My son and I played 18 holes today, and the course was in grgregrgreat condition. Greens were very well kept. Challenging at times, but we both like this course a lot. Definitely recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about the course, and the kindness and professionalism of the staff.

First, the course was in Great condition. It had rained the night before, but the greens were very well kept, fairways are beautiful, and the trees lining almost every hole are fantastic. The fairways themselves are not too narrow. They are wide enough to make a mistake without losing a lot of balls in the woods. Sand traps and water guard the holes in strategic places, which makes you think where you should try to get on the green, and some pins were in challenging locations, all of which are good. One of the best courses I have ever played down here.

Secondly, I want to thank Tom, the gentleman who ran the cart area for his kindness to my 8 year old who was golfing with me, and the professional manner he conducts himself. He quickly had our cart ready, and when we had an issue with that cart on the front nine, Tom quickly brought us another, and proceeded to help us unload the cart with issues, and load the new one with our clubs and other items. After the round, he very patiently answered my curious son's questions about working there. Thank you, again Tom, for the kindness. GIVE THIS MAN A RAISE!

I hope this review helps. I have golfed approximately 12 different courses near the SC and NC border, and this may very well be the best.

I went with my 8 year old, and it was a great experience. The course layout was great, and the condition was excellent. It was very dry down here, but the fairways were very well maintained, and the greens were about as well as they could be, considering the weather.

The course had some good challenging holes, and the fairways were wide enough to accommodate my (many) mis-hits, so I didn't lose many balls. My son, playing off the red tees, was able to stay away from water trouble, and had a lot of fun.

We will definitely be back.
