The course itself was actually pretty good. The fairways had adequate grass in them to have the ball sit up properly and make good contact. Greens were receptive and relatively smooth. Didn't roll too fast and putts were true if you hit them properly. Course isn't overly difficult, but it does offer a variety of sight lines that make you think about what you are going to do off the tee.

It is a muni and I wasn't expecting to be playing at a TPC level facility. For the price paid, the course is very, very good. And it is exceptionally easy to walk if you want to do that.

Had a great round at The Quarry today. GolfNow Hot Deal for $45 was too good to pass up and I also had a $10 tee time voucher expiring on Friday that I had to use, so that was even better. Fairways were in great shape as were the greens. Greens were rolling a little slow, but held the line appropriately and tan true to the reads overall. Managed to play 18 holes in 3:55 and finished just after sunset which was perfect.

Fairways were a bit sparse, very hard and fast. Greens were in pretty good shape and were receptive to good shots and well struck puts.

As always, Vaaler was a marvelous place to play. The turf was in fantastic condition, especially for late December a week after 3 days of hard freezing temperatures. Greens were smooth and rolling true. Good rough in most areas, though not severe and good shots were properly rewarded with a scoring opportunity. Started off as a single and joined up with a threesome on #8 and still managed to finish the round in around 3 1/2 hours. Absolutely love this course.

I’ve played at FT Sam Golf Course numerous times and today was good as usual. The fairways are patchy, at best and the weather was crappy, but the greens were in good shape and very receptive. Played in about 2:45 so that is always a bonus.

Stopped in to play this course on my way home from a golf weekend with my buddies. Course is okay, not super difficult but did have a decent number of blind tee shots or approaches that made you focus a bit harder and that I enjoyed. Played front 9 in about 1:15 which was fantastic, then hit a wall around hole # 13 that made the last 6 holes brutally slow. Luckily the weather and the perfect greens were enough to make up for the slow end to the round.

I play Olympia on a relatively frequent basis and was absolutely thrilled when they reopened amid the Coronavirus shut down. They made numerous adjustments to how they run the facility including having all drinks / food outside, changing the starting hole to #8 and making the course walking only, all of which served to allow us to play. The course is a challenging walk (the "Hills" portion of the name is there for a reason) but very doable. Greens were pretty good across the board and rolled very true throughout. Some patchy spots in the fairways, but overall very playable and very fair. Already have my next tee time scheduled.
