Best public course in OH?-I think not!

I'm not sure how these "best of" lists get generated but giving this course the #1 spot in OH gives Ohio public courses a bad name. Don't get me wrong, this is an above average public golf course but definitely not the best! I've played some of the other courses on the list (Virtues, Eagle Sticks, Heatherwoode) and they are all better that this course. This is a smaller course for an Arthur Hills design. The fairways are in good shape overall. The greens are average to slow. The price is good but it's in Findlay! Was not worth the 1-1/2 hour drive for me but if it were closer, I would recommend.

A Donald Ross gem in Columbus?

There are many courses in Columbus that receive much attention. This isn't one of them. But if you get an chance to play it, don't pass it up. Great Donald Ross layout. The amount of elevation changes for the heart of Columbus was unexpected. There are no water hazards. Many doglegs to contend with. Need to place shots on the right side of the fairway to avoid trees and overhanging branches. The tee boxes and greens are in excellent shape. The greens are speedy with subtle breaks. Very enjoyable course overall!

Great course, waterlogged bunkers

This course is 30-40 minutes from Lexington and well worth the drive. Great value at $25 round on weekdays on Golfnow! Beautiful layout with wide fairways and big elevation changes. Only downside were the bunkers- they were either waterlogged or rock hard.
The ppl that plat this course do not seem to be versed in golf etiquette though. I played as a single and ran into a 5some! Not only that but they refused to let me and another single behind me play through! Very ignorant! They seem to be regulars-hope u don't run into them.

University course with a resort course feel

Nicely maintained course with a typical Arthur Hills layout in the hills of Lexington. Open fairways to bomb your drives. Greens are not overly fast or sloped. Loved the downhill "island" green on #8!
