The Golf Club at Texas A&M
Played On 03/17/2020NO DRINKING WATER
Course is in good shape. Greens were just sanded/fertilized and were slower than normal. Pace of play was reasonable...3 hrs, 50 min. Twosome following a foursome. NO DRINKING WATER on the course. Drain netting for sand traps is showing in several sand traps.

After being delayed 20 minutes due to pop-up shower...worked around the course at a good pace. The course is in excellent shape...greens firm & fast. Overall good golfing test.

The course is holding up under the hot Texas summer...102* today. Played with three "old Aggies" today. Bogey/double bogey golfers but we had a great time. Greens a little slow due to them being aeriated & sanded previous day. Should be in fine shape in 10 days. Two issues... #12 fairway has a irrigation leak...ball plugs 75-100 yds from the green...seems to always have a water leak on that hole every time I play. And only one water can on the whole course...between #4 tee box & # 17 tee box.

Played On 05/08/2018Improved Condition
Course condition has improved since I played here earlier this year. No more irrigation leaks flooding parts of the golf course. The greens were good despite being top-dressed the day before. Golf shop is ran by a back office manager & student help. No course marshal! Student twosome ahead of us had two holes open ahead of them...we were a foursome & had to wait every shot.
Pecan Lakes Golf Course
Played On 11/03/2017Ready for winter golf
Despite a few thin spots around the greens the course is in excellent shape. Greens have been over seeded for the winter months...something the staff did not do last year. The staff is always friendly.
Pecan Lakes Golf Course
Played On 09/28/2017Excellent condition
The golf course is in excellent condition. A few bare areas around the greens have been re-sodded & have not grown in yet. Greens putt very true...fairways are hard & fast yet the ball sits up. Course superintendent met me on the first tee & directed me to play the back nine first due a crowded front nine. Smiling faces & great customer service @ Pecan Lakes.

Played On 05/18/2017WINDY DAY
First time I had played the course since the remodel in 2013. Wide open golf course...wish they had left more trees during the remodel. Huge (excellent) greens with lots of slope & speed (10.5). Just like the old course....lots of leaks, irrigation puddles in the fairways (plugged drives on #3, #4, #6 & #14. For as much as the "big school" spent on the remodel you would think the maintainence crew (Sterling Golf) would pay attention to details. For $25 it was a great value.
Pecan Lakes Golf Course
Played On 02/09/2017Good Layout
Played the course mid-day due to cooler-temps. Nice little layout...no frill clubhouse. Due to hard freeze a few weeks ago the Bermuda grass was brown & the greens were thin...no over-seeding for winter. Well worth the drive from College Station.
