Great Value

We drive about an hour and a half to play here a handful of times a year. We have never been disappointed. The value for the course is hard to match or beat. Even in season their greens fees are low and if you can get on via a HotDeal(we recently got on for $14) even better. Conditions are always very good to great. May have the best greens in York. The course can play easy from the up tees and difficult from the back tees without being a bombers paradise. Par 3s are challenging; most par 4s require placement over distance; driving on par 5s are fairly easy but your next shot is more challenging as the fairways either turn or shrink. Has just the right amount of elevation changes to keep you on your toes dialing in slope yardages. Greens are usually quick and roll true. If your looking for a quick round or a laid back 4some you can not go wrong adding Honey Run to your rota.

Wish I could give 4 and a half stars

Came upon this course through the Turnpike Players Card and loved it from the get go. Course is challenging enough to keep all level of players engaged. Great staff, driving range and dining. This time through there were some bunkers that had rocks in it, but not all. It had rained prior to our round so pace of play was excellent. I have played here 3 times and came away happy each time. Challenging greens; you def want to keep the ball below the hole bc downhillers can get slippery. Both greens and fairways are in good to great condition; some greens had small isolated burn outs. There are some quirky holes, but what good course doesnt have any. I give it 4.5 stars overall. It is worth the 90 min drive for me to play, so if you are ever in the area, I highly suggest playing here.

Red to Blue; Course was in good shape for late March

Played the Red and Blue courses. Course was in good shape, greens were quick but there were a lot of unrepaired ball marks(come on fellow golfers, fix you ball marks please). Had a great time as the course was not crowded; almost felt like we were the only 2 on the course at times. Blue is def the more challenging of the two 9s. For the price the Hotdeal was a spectacular deal, and even their regualr rates are on-par with the course. Recommend it to anyone who is looking to play in the area. Staff was great.

A MUST Play; Personal Top 5 course. Worth the Drive

The Links is my favorite Central PA course, bar none, and top 5 personal course. Very scenic. I have played here 4 times in all seasons and it is always in great shape. Staff has always been above great, practice facilities are also top notch with wide range and short game area. Course is a challenging layout, but the multiple tee options can take some of the challenge away. Water comes into play on most holes, and ones without water have forced carries or multitude of bunkers. Hitting fairways is pretty much a must on most holes. It can play as a bombers paradise(as long as you bomb it straight) and a thinkers course where lay-ups and club selection can mean birdie/par or double/triple. There has always seemed to be some kind of wind to deal with(which i assume is due to its neighboring farm fields), which can mean clubbing up...add in the fact that a lot of the holes have slow uphill grades that ask for an extra club, and you are 2 upped. My favorite hole, and the most challenging in my opinion is the par 5, 7th where you are teeing from above and the fairway has ponds on either side that can come into play on your 2nd shot as well. The ponds lie about 5 feet below the fairway, and the rough is usually trimmed a little which can lead to balls sliding down the slope into the drink. But I think you will be hard pressed to find a tougher hole in the area. There are also a handful of other holes that I would rank 2A, 2B, etc. Bring some extra balls.

Great Track, Wide Open

The Claw is one of my favorite, and best courses in the Philly area; I think it has been a top 5(or 10) Philly area course for many years running. Its located in what I call Philly's Golfers Triangle bc there are roughly 10 courses in a 10 mile radius. Course is always in great shape, the fourth fairway always seems to be soggy, but no complaints. It can play long (the back tee on 10 is 150 yards behind the Blue tee box; par 3, 17th is 240 yards from the back tee), but has 5 tee choices. Wide fairways and average rough make it seem easy. But once on the greens you realize it is not that easy. Undulating greens, false fronts and some pin placements can be demonic. Some fairways have tall grasses that line the rough. Multiple forced carries. Water is pretty much non existent (shank it far left on 2, same pond skirts short left on par 3, 3rd, and a shank far left on 4 are only areas it comes into play). Bunkers are always in good shape, which says something bc a lot of local courses have skimped on the sand this year. Club selection is paramount. Forced layups and carries make use of just about every club in the bag.

Great Track; Must play in York area

Played here for the first time and i was very impressed. Staff was friendly, showed us how to get down to the practice facilities and first tee. Help yourself to free range balls. Large grass driving range, with actual greens to aim at. Fairway-ish grass around greens and front aprons. A bunker and/or chipping green adjacent to range. Large putting green, and a smaller green next to the first tee to give u quick practice while waiting to start your round. Course was in excellent condition; considering it was the first week of November I think it was in outstanding condition. Fairways had no thin / burnt spots, greens in great shape and rolled true, bunkers were in great shape (and actually had sand in them, unlike some other courses that have skimped on the sand this year). You will love #11, reminiscent of 18 at Pebble with the forced carry over a large lake. Back 9 is definitely the harder of the 2. Course is not long, but quick, undulating greens put a premium on GIR's. I will undoubtedly be back next year to play in the warm weather. I love Royal Manchester, and would say Regents is even better. If you are in York, Regents is a MUST Play.

Nice course

Third time i played this course, and I have enjoyed every round. There are definetly some challenging holes. It is not a bombers course as there are many little streams that run through the course that make you lay-up or bite the bullet and try to carry. Some of the greens are very challenging, especially if the use certain pin placements.

A Must Play

Exceeded expectations. True Links experience. The practice facilities (putting green, driving range, separate chipping greens and bunker practice area) are bar-none. Course was in great condition. The tall grasses have not grown up yet, but when they do, this course will be a beast. Quick greens, but not too fast. We decided to play another 18, but there was a foursome about 5 groups ahead of us that had the course backed up (all 5 groups on 2 holes). Went into the clubhouse to see if they could refund the price difference between the 18-hole and 9-hole rate and we were able to get a course credit.

For travelers: It is exactly 15 miles south of the PA turnpike exit for Rt 83.

Nice course, probably better in-season

Course and employees were nice. Greens had been aerated in the last few weeks, and fairways were so-so, bunkers need sand. I am sure that in a couple of weeks the course will be in a lot better shape.

Great course, fairways need work

The course from the pro-shop to the practice facilities to the links is top notch. The fairways were in horrible shape. I was hoping to be in the rough off the tee, as the rough was in great shape. They definitely had some kind of issue with their fairways. I am not sure if it was due to the time of year, or other uncontrollable factors. But, when they get the fairways up to par, thsi is one of the best courses in the Williamsburg area, hands down.

Worth playin a round

I have played here before and have always enjoyed myself. It was a windy day, and the greens were like putting on granite (i dont think they have cut them but probably rolled them). It is defiantely a course you should play to see how you like it. Very hilly, which makes some holes shorter and some longer.

It was the first day of the season for the course. The course was soaking wet, but I didnt care, just wanted to get out. I will defiantely play here again in-season. The course was still good given the amount of water that was on it.

Nice course, with some challenging shots

It was my first time playing, and the staff was great in giving me info about the course. Especially since you need a cart to go from the parking lot to the clubhouse....i would have been standing around wondering where to go. The course was in good shape, even with the dormant grasses. There were a couple of tight fairways, but mostly played open. The greens definitely have pitch marks, but they were in good shape considering. #16 was a unique hole (and ruined my chance at breaking 80), so be prepared to hit 3 good shots, otherwise you may be all over the place. Fairways were in great shape/ The driving range could use some work, was hitting off of dirt, with a couple patches of grass, but the practice green was great, and the ball ran the same there as on the course. I would recommend playing Inniscrone if you are in the area.

Great Challenge

The course was in very good shape considering the time of year we played. The scenery was absolutley beautiful, and even though the bermuda grass was dormant, the course look just as good. You definitley do not want to be playing from the rough on this course. And the bunker placement makes you pay for wayward shots.

Great Course; a MUST play

The course was in great shape considering the time of year we played. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I do not think you can ask for much more from a course that is not on the PGA list of host courses. This course will challenge you on every hole, even the par 3s. Although the fairways are wide, and it is somewhat easy to find your ball on a shank, they make you pay for missed shots. The trees are trimmed to allow a punch out, but that is about it. A must play; bucket list course

Great, even on a rainy day. A Must Play

Played Wyncote for the first time in years, and I was not disappointed. The course was in great shape. The tee-boxes and fairways had been aerated within the last month, but the course was still in great shape. The greens are one of the best in the area; read and rolled true, not too fast and not too slow. Even though it was a Scotland-like day, there was no puddling or mushy areas. The tall grasses that surround each hole make shot making a must. If you are not confident in your driver, go 3 wood, for sure. Only thing that could be better is to have divot mix with each cart. There were some divots that just fell apart and had to leave them unfilled.

Great Course, great price, great people

Everything about Ravens Claw was great. Got paired up with some golfers who were great. It was nice to have some people who had played the course before as it was my first time. I would have clicked pristine as the course condition but there were a few rough spots. I dont think that should be held against the course because we had some crazy weather in late summer, and just about every course i have played has had some rough edges. My only complaint is not even about the course but with the guy who thought he was a pro and took 5 min for every shot, frustrating being that we were the first group off and i thought we would cruise, 4 3/4 hours later we walked off of 18. Challenging course that i would recommend only to golfers who have experience. If your a weekend warrior hacker, you may want to play somewhere else. If not, make sure you bring a lot of balls

Great Course for the money

Course was in really good shape considering the drastic weather we have had over the last month(a lot better than most of the courses i have played in the last 3 weeks) A great course for any skill level. Trees really dont play into your round except for a few spots. Tall grasses are the major hazard on this course. Only the par 3 17th brings water into play being as it is an over-the-water chip.(water is in play on 16 if you go left of the green)

Great Price, Great course

The course was in great shape except for the bunkers. Most were not raked, and a bunch had standing water on them. But other than that, the course was in great condition. Which was a bit of a surprise after reading some of the reviews on golfnow before i booked.
