Jones at Sea Trail Golf Resort and Convention Center
Played On 07/11/2017Good day at Sea Trails-Jones Course
Had a good experience at the course today. Course was in really good condition. The greens were a bit on the fuzzy side but still rolled true. I do not like playing neighborhood golf, but over half the holes, the houses do not come into play, but the holes where they do, it is a little on the tighter side. First time playing so I am impressed with the layout and conditions. Had a back up on 5, but spoke to a member and he told me where to go and was able to play 18 under 3 hours as a single, 50 mins. to play the back. I would recommend this course if visiting Sunset Beach, as it is the closest course to the Beach. I played on a hot afternoon about 2:00pm and was able to enjoy the round, although had to skip around a bit. I was stuck behind 3 4-somes on #5 and decided to skip to the back, where I was by myself. I would suggest playing later in the day to avoid any delays. Overall good challenge and good conditions. Very windy and that took some creative thinking on shot making. Play this course if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed.
Legacy Pines Golf Club
Played On 10/01/2016Fun course
Legacy Pines is a fun course to play. 1st time around the course can leave you guessing, but it is a fair challenge. Greens were in fantastic shape, rolled true and great speed. Fairways were also in great shape, with very few dead spots. I would love to get another crack at this course, as there are a few holes where blind shots come into play. Overall, this course is in great shape and the price is right. Had a great time playing this hidden gem just south of Greenville. I highly recommend playing.
Southland Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/11/2016Good times
This was my first time to Southland and I will be back. The course was in good shape, a little patchy in places and slower greens but the overall experience was great. Course provided a lot of different shots to be played. This is a course you must play once before you know where to hit each shot.
The Preserve at Verdae
Played On 09/26/2015Rainy day at the course
I played on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The course seemed to drain pretty well. There were some soft spots, but with the amount of rain that day and the previous day it was in good shape. I would love to play this course again when it is not wet. Cart path only was the only draw back, but that was expected. Fairways were lush and green. Green complexes were in very good shape and rolled pretty true. I was very happy with the course, it was a fun, but not overly challenging track. There are a few holes that are really pretty. There are some holes where shot placement is a must and some where you can let it rip. I was very happy with the course and recommend it if you have the chance.
Whispering Woods Golf Club
Played On 09/19/2015New greens
Wow, these new greens are tough to read, especially if you are not used to reading Bermuda greens, then you are in for a frustrating day. Greens were in fantastic shape, just beware of slope and the grain. I have not played here in a few years and they are doing a some good work bringing back a good track. The natural areas and areas off the fairways are very true to the area.
Wolf Creek Golf Course
Played On 08/08/2015Wolf Creek
Wolf Creek was in very good shape, except for the ball marks on the green. I was happy with the course conditions, rough was tall and punished you if you were off of the fairway. Pace of play was great at 1:00pm start time, not many people on the course. Fairways were cut great and the GPS on the carts was helpful. There are some tough holes at Wolf Creek and there a a few easier holes, overall good mix and made me use every club in my bag. I was very impressed with the whole golf experience. Will definitely be back.
Thanks for playing at Wolf Creek and posting your comments. It is always awesome to get a 5 star review! We are glad that you enjoyed your round and are looking forward to seeing you again sometime soon.

West Pines Golf Club
Played On 08/07/2015West Pines
Course was in really good shape, considered we have had very little rain. Greens rolled true, fairways were in great shape. The staff at WP had really got it looking good! It is definitely a good public course and recommend you giving it a try, you will be very surprised.
We're so glad you enjoyed you round and overall experience that West Pines offers! We hope you keep coming back!
City Club Marietta
Played On 08/01/2015Marietta City Club
The course is in need of serious care. The fairways were in decent shape, but that is the only thing good about the course. The greens are not even worth bringing your putter. There is not a clear path to any flag stick I played today. The price they charge to play this course is too high, even when the greens are not is shambles. I would not play this for free, that is how poor of condition the course is in. I hope they can recover and I may give it another chance.
We are sorry that the greens were not in the best shape when you played. The heat has been especially hard on the poa annua this year. We have just aerified the greens and we are reseeding them with bentgrass to strengthen them for the future. We hope to have them back in great shape soon and we hope to see you again in the future.
Deercroft Golf Club
Played On 07/07/2015Course is coming back to life
Ted and his staff are doing a great job bringing back this course. I have played here in the past and it was in bad shape. The changes they have made are great. They took a lot of trees out and the natural areas are very pleasing to the eye. It is not an easy course, but it is fun. I really enjoyed my round and will be back in the near future. Keep up the good work.
Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Grey Fox Course
Played On 07/06/2015Good course for the money
Course was in pretty good shape. This is a course that is on my list of must plays when in the area. Greens were in good shape as were the fairways. I always enjoy playing this course. It starts off with a par 5 which limits your tee shot to a long iron or hybrid. I always enjoy my rounds at Foxfire.
Hi "packfan51" Thanks for the great review! Thank you so much for making us one of your must plays we really appreciate your support. Can't wait to see you when your back in town!
Longleaf Golf & Family Club
Played On 10/21/2013Great day and course
Had an afternoon tee time, single, and played under 2.5 hours. Course was is fantastic shape. I always love this course. It is challenging enough but not overbearing. Was very pleased with the conditions of the course.
Stonemont at Stone Mountain Golf Course
Played On 7/20/2013Nice Course
Played Stonemont and the course was in pretty decent shape. The greens rolled true and the fairways were in good shape. The ranger was out and checking in on groups. I played on a threatening weather day so the course was not crowded. Some holes are tight and others are open. Not too hard in my mind, but made you think about some shots. 9th hole is a circus hole but all other holes played well.
Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Red Fox Course
Played On 7/16/2013Great course
I played the East course and it was in fantastic shape. The rough was extra thick with as much rain the area has had. The fairways and greens were very true. It is not exceptionally long but it makes you think about your shots. I really enjoyed my round. If you can, play this course, you will not be regret it.
City Club Marietta
Played On 2/8/2013Average course, very crowded.
This course is close to town, which reflects the high price. I have played this course numerous times and it is always crowded. They do have great GPS on the carts. The course is short and have some quirky holes. Driver is not needed on most of the holes. Greens are in OK condition, lots of ball marks that do not get fixed. I think the course is overpriced for the type of golf. Overall this course is crowded and overpriced in my opinion, but it is close to town.
Towne Lake Hills Golf Club
Played On 2/01/2013Cold winter day
The course was in good shape, considering it rained heavy a few days before. The greens were a little slow but they rolled pretty true. The fairways and rough were in good shape as well. This is a tough course, as it is narrow in some spots. It is one of the better neighborhood golf courses around. My only issue was as a single I was held up by 2 two-somes on the back nine, the last 5 holes. Overall the course is a fun track with a good layout.
The Golf Club At Bradshaw Farm - Red Nine
Played On 11/27/2012Great course, great conditions
I played the course on a Tuesday afternoon and there was nobody on the course. I suggest playing during the week if you can. The course is in great shape. I played Red-White and had a great time. The mixture of holes makes this course exciting to play. I played the gold tees and they were just long enough. The views are very nice. The course has a good mixture of holes. I really enjoy playing here and recommend playing it if you have not before.
Durham Lakes Country Club
Played On 11/12/2012tough layout
Getting better, they let it go about a year ago, it is making a comeback. Slow play though, most golfers there have no concept of letting faster groups through.
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
Played On 11/9/2012Nice course
The course was in good shape. The course was crowded, nobody working course to monitor pace. Neighborhood golf, but not too tight. Interesting layout, has a links feel, but then it tightens up in a neighborhood. Some blind shots, so be aware.
HI "packfan51"Thanks for the fantastic review! Thank you so much for taking the time to review our course. We apologize the weather conditions were not perfect on this particular day, and we appreciate your understanding. We hope to see you back out there on a more sunny day.
