We had a great time playing Golden Bear! The course was in the best shape I have ever experienced!!! The greens were smooth and quick!!!

First off, I can’t begin to say that the staff at this facility ranks in my top 5 of the friendliest staff’s that I have ever come across. It appears to me that they enjoy working at this facility. The course was in good shape and certainly presented some challenge especially when the winds picked up. I was frustrated with the pace of play on our back 9. The Ranger was not circulating and some groups started slowing down and really needed a push. I will be back when we come back to the area!!!

Oyster Reef is a must play when visiting HHI. The people are very friendly and helpful!!! The course layout provides some thinking, which I like!!! The tee boxes and some greens are transitioning grasses so they were not in the best shape but no bad at all. I will be back the next time I visit the Island!!!

Last week we played this course for the first time in over twenty years. I questioned why I stayed away for so long because of the great time we had. So we tried it again, one week after and glad we did. This course will be on our must play every time we come to the island!!!

I was pleasantly surprised by our experience. I have not played Golden Bear for 20+ years. i am not sure why, because it is easy to get to, the staff is very friendly and the course was in good shape.

We were paired with two very nice people. That doesn’t always happen so we were grateful that it did this time. The course has a nice challenging layout. The greens were quick but had some patches on them that were ground under repair. The must frustrating part was the sand traps that were under construction. Not only were they an eyesore, they impacted play. When workers were in them they didn’t stop and you had to avoid them and the machineary. It would have been nice to know this prior to the reservation. We would have went elsewhere. The people there are very nice. It is nice to see they were making improvements. But, please communicate somehow that as a potential customer this is what we are going to face if we golf there.

I arrived 30 min before my tee time. I wanted to loosen up before playing. I was looking forward to playing with someone else since I was a single. After checking in I head to the driving range with my $8.00 bag of range balls. As soon as I pull up the Starter calls my name and suggests I play with the threesome on the tee. I dropped my Head because I just paid for and wanted to loosen up. He said go ahead I will send them off. After hitting balls I go to the tee 5 min early and he says I have no one to put you with. I said I was to play with a twosome and he said he sent them off two groups ago without me because I wasn’t there yet. But I got there 30 min early! So I ended up playing alone waiting every shot.
The course was in great shape. The greens were firm and the putts rolled true. I love the layout and I will return the next time I have others with me but will not return as a single.

Our first time playing there. In all honesty, I was expecting a course in better condition versus what we experienced. Being from the north, I do not know if this area experienced tough weather that has growth of grass behind or not. The greens had some weed in them which made putting difficult. The course layout is awesome and the people were extremely friendly. I will give this place a shot again the next time we are in the area!!!

We were put on the back 9. The Starter got us off earlier than our tee time. We summarized because they had an event starting. We were not told of the event by the Staff we just saw a registration table with people at it. We circled the back 9 in 1 hour and 45 minutes. The pace of play was smooth until we made the turn. It took us 1 hour to play 2 holes.
It took us 2 hours to play 6 holes with a 3 group back up on the 7 tee. We threw in the towel and called it quits. As we returned to the club house there were three groups on each hole going in with a sixsome being the last group we saw on the 9th green. Why an event would put out a sixsome and have 7-8 groups following blows my mind. There was no one at the Clubhouse to complain to!!! It was pretty crummy that they took full rate knowing that an event was going to significantly impact our play. We will not return unless we hear the Course is under new management!!!

We had a great golfing experience! Pricing was a little steep but I would go back! The course was in excellent condition. We had a unique experience playing with a young lady who was going to qualify for the upcoming LPGA event being held at that course. She would hit different shots and try different putts to get a lay of the land. This took time and we had good Golfers behind us so I was feeling a little uneasy. She was very nice and I appreciated her game!!! We also played with a member who could help point out areas to avoid. We have told our friends to go and play this course. Many of us are her at a Convention. Next time back in the area we will be back to play!!!

What an awesome place!!! We couldn't have asked for a better golfing experience!!! We will be back!!!

The course was pretty tough. The wind was blowing a little bit too adding to the degree of difficulty. It was my wife and I playing. We got teamed up with two guys that I do not think wanted to play in a group with a women. That is the chance you take. It was unfortunate because it effected my wife's experience which in turn effected mine. I decided to play back with them on the longer tees because we didn't want to hit from three sets of tees which would have slowed us way down. I hope next time we can get a favorable pairing!!!

It was a good round of golf! It was unfortunate we had a threesome behind us. They kept pushing into us for 12 holes. I think once they realized we were waiting on foursomes in front of us, they backed off. The Ranger just drove around and didn't really check in to see how things were. The Course was awesome and in great shape.

You can tell when you get out of the car the attitude that a course brings. In this case it was about customer service. It was every employee's goal no matter who to make sure we had a very good time. They did not disappoint! This place is one of my all time favorites!!! I will be back!!!

We really didn't know what to expect when we scheduled this tee time. Our goal was to play somewhere close to the Airport. So after a long day of traveling we just wanted to hit the ball. We were surprised by the quality of the golf course and the conditions!!! The greens were fast and presented challenge which was awesome!!! We will be back next year when we return!!!

We really enjoyed our time. The only thing we wished was different was the constant waiting! Hard to get into a rythum when waiting!!!

The amount of time to play....5+ hours was ridiculous for that course. Waited 75% of the shots. You couldn't get in a rythum. Pin positions lended itself to slow play with 3 putts and chipping. The Course is nice but when you wait and wait it falls out of favor quickly!!!

Course was in great shape!!! Interesting layout!!! Will play it again when back in the area!!!

Asking way too much money to play a course in this condition. The course was overseeded and no carts and the greens were as long as the fairway. The courses is beautiful and has challenges with layout and obstacles. I would love to play it when it was not in that type of condition. Charging the amount we paid was greedy!!! Should never expect to receive that kind of money for that type of condition. On another note, the staff was very friendly!!!
