10 & 19 at University Park Country Club
Played On 03/11/2016Nice Track at Upscale Club
Played with a member who was very accommodating to a first time visiting player. Challenging course with relatively wide driving areas and very large, and somewhat undulating greens. Course was in good shape for the early season. Fair amount of water comes into play with a few forced carries. Played the "original" 18 holes, but facility also has another 9 holes added to the original course. Very large development with what appears to be a large membership and extensive amenities available. A little "pricey" for GolfNow, but somewhat understandable for a "high-season" time of year and quality of the facilities.
Rosedale Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/10/2016Tight and interesting
The course was in reasonably good shape for this early in the season. Pace of play was good for a fairly crowded course. Ranger prompted the group in front of our group to pick up the pace when they fell a little behind the group in front of them. Pretty tight driving areas, but fair. Relatively large greens that were in good shape considering the time of season. Lots of water hazards in play. A few "blind" hazards that aren't visible from the tee. Good challenge. Good value at the GolfNow rate.
West at Grandover Resort
Played On 05/24/2014Challenging, Scenic Venue
This resort is a quality property with two excellent golf courses. Course I played was in good shape, particularly the greens which were very smooth and rolled true. A few fairways had some brown spots, but otherwise in nice shape. I played the West course on two days. After being paired with a twosome, it took about 4 and one-half hours to play behind what appeared to be a small company outing. Playing alone with an early morning tee time two days later, I played in a little less than three hours with the course virtually to myself. Using GolfNow made this a very good value for the quality golf course.
