I love playing here because I can score and conditions are usually top notch. Could use more TLC on some bunkers.

The difficulty for me on course was the hole position on the small undulating greens. Yardage is poorly marked, luckily my cart partner had a yardage watch.
Green rolled well.

Best I've seen the course conditions in some time.

First tee you'll run the street, not a cart path because it's washed out over the creek. That's no big deal.
1st green looked ok, but not mowed. On a Saturday morning 7:30 am tee time. No. 2 green, probably not mowed in 3 days. Weeds all over it. Crater gaps without grass. Had to relocate my ball to avoid putting through the craters. No. 3 green looked ok. From then on, bunkers and greens were generally un-maintained.
Trees are grown in to a point along fairways it's almost too tight of a window from the tee. Needs more yardage marked. I used to play this course a lot 10 years back. Haven't been there in years. Probably not returning. Shame.

Couple draw backs - the design or placement of several tee boxes on the Old Course relative to some opposing cart paths and greens or previous greens played. You are in range to be hit or hit someone.
Bunkers weren't in good shape.
Greens were good. Soft.

Greens do not putt well. Very rough. I would say they cost me 3 to 5 strokes.

Course was in outstanding shape. Stay on the fairway because the rough was tough, thick and lush. Ball was still visible but if the ball settled down, it was a tough out sometimes while other times I got fliers. Putts rolled true and shots held. Putted quick but not unfair. Only knock is the bunkers are raked dirt.

This is basically my home course as I used to live in GP. I've played it off and on for over 30 years but have not played it in about 1 year. It's in nice shape.
Certainly going back soon.

Played the East Course. Temp greens on 1,2, 16 and 17. Needed temp. greens on a couple other greens.
Marshall was disrespectful. We booked a threesome and had a single added to us, who rode with one of us. Slow player, took many shots and had no golf etiquette. We were first tee time of day and the groups behind us were threesomes. Marshall stayed on us for first nine holes telling us to speed up and would start his gas cart within 20 yards of our players about to swing. Luckily the single dropped out at the turn.
Front nine we played in 2 hrs. 15 min. Back nine 1 hr. 30 min.
