Reston National Golf Course
Played On 09/25/2022Course needs TLC
The course is in “ok” condition…I expected better especially with the high weekend rate which doesn’t include the cart. Several of the greens were patchy and showed signs of disease. Speed of the greens weren’t consistent throughout, some were ok, others were slow. Fairways hadn’t been mown recently and as such had varying degrees of growth showing. Bunkers definitely need work since several were treated as GUR. The chipping and putting areas were in great condition however, the driving range was limited to irons only. Overall, it was a good round that didn’t match the $101 weekend rate. Word of advice, play this course during the week.
North Shore Golf Course
Played On 03/18/2022Great Course to Play
The course was recommended to me by another golfer. Clubhouse was small but contained most of everything needed to get players out onto the course. Range was ok including chipping and putting greens. Course layout was nice, typical doglegs, water hazards were lined with sand. A couple of fairways and greens were somewhat beat up and needed attention. The greens crew were seen laying down sand and seeds on patchy areas around the greens. The greens were nice and smooth and were well kept. Overall great course to play. As an out of state golfer, green fees were typically higher which is a bummer, but I’ll gladly play the course again! Definitely a gem to play!
Waldorf Astoria Golf Club
Played On 03/17/2022Good Course but….pricey
Layout was ok, fairways were in good conditions as were the greens. Bunkers weren’t consistent, some had fluffy sand, others were hard and more like dirt. Construction is being done which has the 18th shortened to a par 4. If you’re willing to shell out $250+ to say you’ve played at the Waldorf Astoria Club, go for it!
National Golf Club

It’s a great course with a lot of potentials…seems like they are working on repairing the clubhouse. Course has a nice layout, fairways are good, greens run smooth and true
Marlton Golf Club
Played On 06/12/2018Good layout....poorly maintained
Marlton is located out in the middle of nowhere...it’s easy for someone to get turned around trying to find the course. Upon arriving @ 7:00am, clubhouse and facilities were still closed. Jimmy, the manager didn’t arrive until about 7:45am. Clubhouse looked more like a gathering room for bingo that had a couple of slot machines rather than a golf course club house. Since clubhouse opened late, I couldn’t warm up at the driving range which looked ok. They use mats rather than hitting off the grass. The putting greens looked well kept. We teed of at 8:06 am behind a foursome, we were the cons group to go out so the pace of play was quite quick. The layout of the course was nice, challenging, with a mixture of doglegs left and right, narrow fairways, and well placed bunkers. Fairways weren’t in good condition, drainage was poor, water had pooled on several fairways. Some greens were smooth, others were bumpy and showed signs of damage caused by poor mowing and fungus growth. Sand in bunkers were caked and hard while several bunkers were under water. Overall, this course needs a lot of maintenance and attention. Given the low number of golfers that play here, I’m not sure it’ll receive the proper care and maintenance required.
Los Verdes Golf Course
Played On 06/03/2018Great layout and views, however.....
When I saw the poor reviews regarding this course, I thought to myself, how bad could it really be? Don’t get me wrong, for a municipal course, it wasn’t in bad condition. The layout and difficulty of this course was just right, challenging you to pick the right club for every shot, doglegs both right and left, and well placed bunkers that made you think twice before going after pin positions on a small green. The fairways were in fair condition, greens were smooth and ran moderate, plus the views of the gulf coast were spectacular. What really messes up this course is the pace of play, especially on the par 3s. We started the round at 1:30pm and finished at exactly 7:35pm! The waiting between holes was extremely unbearable. If it hadn’t been for the awesome weather, I probably would have called it quits early. There were several marshals on the course but neither paid any attention to pace of play nor encouraged golfers to speed up. If they can figure out how to improve pace of play, this would be a nice course to play on.
