Great but for the pace

Very nice course. Laid out well, generally good condition except for the bunkers which were a disaster. All in all, it would have been an enjoyable place to play if it wasn't for the pace. Playing at a course like this on a Saturday afternoon at 4pm, one would expect to be able to play consistently. Not the case here. It took an hour to play 3 1/2 holes. Ultimately, we had to skip 5 holes just to get ahead of things and finish or else we wouldn't have finished in time before it got dark. Really disappointing for a course I was really looking forward to playing.

Some ups and some downs

The course itself was in good condition and you can't beat the scenery surrounded by vineyards and meandering through the countryside. Easy to book, friendly people, tons of wind (but that's obviously not the course's issue).

There really were 2 challenges.

First, the course itself has a challenging layout in terms of getting from one hole to another and some of the holes are captive to the terrain, which takes it beyond challenging to just frustrating. Of course, it always depends on how well you're playing - if you're having a good, accurate day, the ravines and inclines won't matter to you...

Second, teeing off later in the afternoon, we were supposed to be able to cruise through. However, there apparently are members who show up and expect to be able to do whatever they want. On the first tee, a member jumped in front of us without saying a word. That then happened at least 2 more times and, for the latter 2, we had to wait, which included a member who was taking 2-3 shots from each ball. Add to that the fact that clearly some people play with range balls and then leave them on the course, as we found range balls on almost every hole, that can be very frustrating.

It's worth another shot, but we ended up not being able to finish 18 since the gate closes at 8pm and the members jumping in front of us slowed us down too much.
