Mooresville Golf Club
Played On 10/18/2019Do not miss this.
There may be better unis but not until you add $200.00 to the rack rate.
The only course I have played that conforms to Federal ADA guidelines.
Of note:
1) They do not use handicapped flags. You are given a single person cart that is designed for golfers who have lost use of a limb. Due to the design, there is no place for the club supplied GPS. Bring your own.
2) The greens are very fast. Double or triple your practice green time.
If I did not live an hour away, I would join and play every week at least once.
Emerald Lake Golf Club
Played On 06/20/2019Too much water.
Hard to write a fair review. I would normally complain about lack of handicapped flags, but areas near tees and greens soaked by watering and flag would not have been helpful.
Like the layout, except: The forward tee on hole 4 forces you to play a shot that leaves you worse off than a bad shot from the longer tees. 180 yard par 3 (16) from senior tees is silly.
Used to play here a lot and liked it. Something has changed and it is less fun.
Cart complains are valid.
Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation
Played On 05/23/2019Great course; lousy staff
The course itself is great, one of my favorites.
The stall is brusk, surly or unfriendly. I don’t like that they act like they are doing me a favor letting me play there.
Today even though we were waiting on the group in front on every shot we were admonished for slow play.
I think their no handicapped flag policy violates the law when coupled with a requirement to stay 50 yards from the green. Also the terrain from the path to the green cannot be negotiated by a handicapped person.
Edgewater Golf Club
Played On 06/16/2019A terrific hidden gem.
Hidden is the operative word. In the middle of nowhere, but worth the 90 minute drive each way. Only minus is sparse amenities and no circulating beverage cart.
Thank you for taking the time to review us Benjamin938. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. Edgewater Golf Club thanks you!
Highland Creek Golf Club
Played On 08/04/2017Needs work
The bent grass greens are stressed.
The new management is aware of past mantainance problems and is working to correct them.
Some of the terrain is difficult for older golfers.
The Golf Club at Ballantyne
Played On 05/11/2017Almost perfect
Loved everything about course and people. Their policy of adding tax to everything instead of including it in rack rate and food and drink cost left me feeling "nickel and dined". Selling for 3 times the store price should be enough.
The Tradition Golf Club
Played On 04/14/2017Love the course
Great course. Love to play it. Only caveat is no handicapped flag and tough terrain.
Had to skip 2 holes due to my physical limitations.
The Divide Golf Club
Played On 04/12/2017Fun to play
I play from shortest men's tees. The course is much harder from longer tees.
Waterford Golf Club
Played On 04/11/2016Needs Upkeep
If it was't for weeds and clover, nothing except the greens (which were good) would be other than dirt. Tees could not be inserted without brute force.
On the plus side, so dry ball rolled forever.
Stonebridge Golf Club
Played On 04/06/2016My favorite local course.
I drive 1 hour each way to play.. If I lived closer, I would play at least once a week.
Their handicapped flag policy is the only negative.
Benjamin938 - Thank you very much for the 5 star rating! We are thrilled that you enjoy playing and we wish you lived closer as well!
We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation
Played On 03/18/2016great course
Would play here more often if a little less expensive, compared to what I pay elsewhere for comparable courses.
Only negatives are 1) Staff acts like they are doing you a favor by letting you play there.
2) I wish they were a little more handicapped friendly in their flag policy.
Stonebridge Golf Club
Played On 08/27/2015Wish I lived closer
I live an hour away with moderate to heavy traffic. I play here 15-20 times a year, but would play at least once a week if it was closer.
Almost everything is "in front of you". No tricks or hidden pitfalls. You get the results you deserve.
Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation
Played On 02/08/2015Not handicapped ftriendly
Difficult terrain from cart path to tees and greens on several holes. Flag does not get any extra privileges leaving some long walks from cart to ball and back.
Tot Hill Farm Golf Club
Played On 07/09/2014not for the physically challenged
Great course! I could not complete my round. 4 artificial joints Age 77. Too fat.
The terrain was too much for me to handle.
Not the fault of the course.
Monroe Country Club
Played On 01/20/2014Fair challenge
There are a good selection of holes. No tricks. No unreasonable forced carries. A good place for a fun round of golf with friends. Probably not a good choice for the advanced golfer looking for a challenge to his game.
Chateau Elan Golf Club - Chateau Course
Played On 12/01/2013Do not attempt if you are handicapped unless you get a flag.
With a verified disability you can go anywhere, except within 5 yards of the green, even on par 3's.
I love this course.
In the summer it is in excellent shape. I played in winter conditions which are never pristine.
Emerald Lake Golf Club
Played On 10/24/2013Nice course for a pleasant round
Play 2 or 3 times a year. Always an enjoyable round. Clubhouse burned down last year, rebuilding not yet started.
Pinetuck Golf Course
Played On 10/20/2013Interesting public course.
I play here once or twice a year. The tees and fairways need some maintenance, but the superb greens make up for that.
You can not get lost, but either a yardage book or informational posts at the tees would make it easier to find the proper direction of play on several holes. 2 forced carries over water raise the level from easy to moderate.
Whispering Woods Golf Club
Played On 3/18/2013disappointed
Signed up for the Warrior club and ball special. It is a good deal because you get a club and ball for only $10.00. Even the balls alone would be half-price. However, the offered clubs that are in stock come only with regular shafts. They should either carry a greater selection or offer to ship a club that meets the player's needs.
We are sorry you were unable to find the shaft you preferred but we got a new shipment of clubs and would be more than happy to exchange for the specific shaft you are looking for. Please contact the GM at the proshop and we'd be glad to get you what you want. Thanks for your support!
Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
Played On 2/10/2013Generally good layout.
This course is in a community that was designed to be private and upscale. Not enough property sold and the course was opened to the public. Temporary clubhouse is small and spartan. Small snack bar. Gravel parking lot. Course maintained well.
The course has 5-3's, 8-4 's and 5-5's. Rolling terrain. My only complaint is a 590 yard par 5 from the senior (gold) tees for a finishing hole. Instead of feeling "When can I come back?"; I left feeling " Why did I come.".
