On complaint about this round was that the greens had recently been aerated which was not noted when I booked my tee time. Love the course but would have waited until greens had recovered and not played the course at this time.

This course is very challenging with the steep and hilly terrain. The greens were in good shape but the fairways and tee boxes were a bit bare. Could have been due to season changing. However it appears that the course is hurting for funds and is not getting the upkeep needed. There were other signs of the facilities financial problems. This course has all the elements of a former top notch operation and with help could be again. Will play another round in the future when summer is in full force and hopefully the grass has returned.

My only real complaint was that they gave us a booking knowing that they had a large tournament on 18 of the 27 holes. We were relegated to the shorter Tradition 9 holes which we had to play twice instead of one of the other two 9 holes. In addition a few of the greens on the Tradition side of the course were in poor condition.

Have always liked the challenging lay out but the condition in the more recent past has been only fair.
Over a period of voluntary closesure they made some much needed improvements on the course. Now I'm proud to say it appears the Lion is on it's way back. It's not perfect yet but gaining ground. Hope they keep at it. So if you can handle the drive out to Breman I would say the Lion is worth the trip.

Course was in good shape considered the time of year and colder climate. The greens were in good shape and rolled smooth but fast. The layout is pretty much what you see is what you get. If you play from the back tees you'll see how the course earns the higher slope rating.

The greens were in transition after being aerated but needed cutting as well. All the bunkers had good sand but every one needed raking.
