Las Vegas National Golf Course
Played On 07/27/2018good historic course
I played friday morning , as a single, got paired up with 3 guys that were extremely nice, but horrible golfers. I played the tips and so did the other guys, they should have played at least the 1 maybe the 2 sets of tees up. went back to play saturday am. Got paired with a dad and 2 beginner sons who could not hit ball past 60yrds. or shank it a 100yds. I left after nine holes. almost the worst experience on a golf course I ever had.

This course in great shape. If you hit it good you never have a bad lie. Last 2 times played I haves shot my best rounds since living out here (8 months) 72,73. Greens are very receptive to approach shots. only weird rule is you can't have 3 carts on a fairway at once???

Played Sunday morning after a very heavy rain. Cart path only, but not courses fault. Had a few new lakes around course but should be good to go in a few days

Fairways are browned out in spots. and greens are same way . Was expecting a much more plush course after seeing pictures on internet and there website.

I guess I will learn sooner or later that all golf courses close to surprise az are going to be " senior" courses. Short with no gamble game.

Course was great, staff awesome. Need to get liquor license. If you want a mixed drink you can't take it on the course
Thank you for the positive comments! We do have a liquor license but you are correct, no "hard alcohol" is allowed on the course...just beer. You can always enjoy your hard alcoholic beverages on the patio before or after your round. We do have some of the best views on the west side of town. We hope to see you at the course again soon! ~HC

play here every week with a group of anywhere from 8-25 guys. Greens are always some of the best you will ever putt on. Really need to work on fairways. But other than that would and will continue to play here. If your looking for a good money game to play in, the noon game out there is top notch!.
Thank you so much for the feedback! We are working to improve the conditions of the fairways. See you soon!
The Rawls Course at Texas Tech
Played On 11/26/2012great course , great links style layout.
I've played this course about 150 times and always in great shape. Today we played, it's winter so the fairway grass is dead, but the greens are perfect . And the new club house!! WOW!!! .AWESOME!! As far as value, it could be about $20.00 cheaper and make up the difference in more rounds played
.
Hi @macgolfer79413
Thanks so much for coming out to play. We appreciate you taking the time to write your review.
You mentioned that you came across a few "brown" areas - you're absolutely right - and here's why.
Spring transition is the period where an over seeded desert golf course transitions from winter grass (Ryegrass) to summer grass (Bermuda grass). Our property chooses to fully over seed nearly all turf areas to enjoy beautiful rewards during the cooler months while Ryegrass can thrive in the Arizona desert. With this decision comes other subsequent, related decisions and practices which must take place during the warmer months. This is a time of year where a desert golf course will not be colorful green at all times. It is our intent to continue to focus on excellent playing conditions while minimizing the aesthetic decline and the time frame of which it occurs.
We hope that helps to explain the coloration on course, and sincerely hope you'll be able to come out and play again soon! Kate
