Bardmoor Golf & Tennis Club
Played On 06/01/2017Good course, challenging
Have played there twice in the last two weeks. Very challenging course but fair. Greens are excellent, fast and true. Sand traps were also in great condition. Fairways were in playable shape. The layout was interesting with varied holes. You need to play this course a few times to score well as you need to think about club selection on a number of the tee boxes. My only complaint is from the Gold tees it plays 6579 yrds which is long for me and from the Silver it plays 5782 which is short. Be nice if they could provide a combination of the two together to get to about 6000. Good course for the money. Highly recommend trying it.
Seminole Lake Country Club
Played On 03/28/2016Excellent Value, Very Good Course
In an extended March stay in St Petersburg I played Seminole Lake twice. I recommend playing this course. On my stay I played 4 different courses. Others were Mangrove Bay in St. Pete and Lansbrook and Tarpon Woods in Oldsmar area. Seminole Lake was the best. The greens were in great shape and rolled true. The fairways were good and the traps were very good. I used the Golfnow member for a day package at ~$60. This is an excellent value and includes lunch which is anything off the menu (food was above average) and a small bag of range balls. The course layout was interesting but not over the top, a challenging but fair course. The staff was very friendly and courteous, understanding the value of repeat customers. If looking for golf in the St Pete, don't hesitate to play Seminole Lake.
Great! Thank you so much for playing the member for a day package at Seminole Lake Country Club! We are happy to hear you thoroughly enjoyed the golf course, the greens, and the entire value of the package. We're glad it stacked up first in your rankings from the local area. Come back soon, we can't wait to see you!
Pinch Brook Golf Course
Played On 10/28/2014Good Muni
I live nearby and use PB as my base course. It is a solid municipal course. Like all Morris County courses you can expect to tee off at your scheduled time, the greens are always in above average shape for a public course and the pace is reasonable (4:10). When the course conditions can be handled by the grounds keeper the fairways and roughs are typically in good shape. The bunkers can be so so. The staff is great and they try hard to get you out if you just walk up.
The course is a par 65 and has nine par 3s, which can be a little boring. It's an easy walking course. I particularly like the front, holes 2-6. They are fun. I have often played here with my wife who is about a 30 handicap. She doesn't get frustrated and there is enough for me to have a good time.
The only draw back to the course is the last three holes are par 3s. I don't like to put the driver away after 15. With a county card the pricing is reasonable but if I have the time I go to Flanders Valley for about the same price. Out of county prices might seem high for PB.
Thoughtful review. Thanks for sharing. Haven't played there in a few years...will try it out again.
