Coyote Lakes Golf Club

Course was in very good winter condition. This is not a course for beginners or high handicappers. You WILL loose lots of balls and become frustrated if you are this level of golfer. We only played 9 holes as the pace of play was very slow, 2 1/2 hours for 9 holes. Even though there was a Marshal, he did nothing to speed up the pace of pllay.

We play union hills every year we come to Phoenix. This is not a high end course but that is exactly why we love playing here. Course was in great winter condition. Played in 3 hrs! Good value at $180 for my wife and I c/w cart. Will play again next winter!!

This. Course used to be a Sr. Tour and LPGA stop. Thus I love the layout. The course has seen much better days (bunkers are cement) but it is a very enjoyable course for mid handicappers. This year was the best shape I have ever seen the fairways and greens ion (slow though). Also very reasonable cost, $140 for my wife and I plus cart. And bonus, played in 3 hrs!!

Starting on the West course, it was nice to have a starter who explained a few of the holes. If you have not played here, you WILL hit into the water, especially #1 if you are not told where the water is. The course was ok, greens were overseeded slow, bunkers good. We played at full rate and this course is not worth nearly $190. We will not come back.

We teed off at 10:22 am. Nice day. Starter was friendly BUT failed to mention not to drive on the gravel/desert. West course was more challenging than the North. Overall conditions were ok. Not super, not poor. Course was playing on overseeding. Green were spongy and slowish but true. Cost for 2 of us with cart was nearlyt $190. Far too much for this course.

This is a wonderful course. It is a bit pricey but we got the after 1:00 pm rate so it was excellent pricing!! If you are playing this course for the first time, without someone who has played it before, beware, there is plenty of trouble waiting for you, especially on the back 9. There are lots of rocks, boulders and outcrops on Victory, but they add to the fun and challenge. The 18th hole is one of the most incredible you will see. Greens were very true and surprisingly fast for having been overseeded. When we are down in Phoenix, we will always play this course.

The joy of playing hillcrest is in remembering what it once was....back in the mid 80s. The track layout is wonderful. The course shows many signs of lack of capital to have it in outstanding condition. Don't play here if you want some high level experience. Play it to remember what it once was and to have a nice, relaxing round. I will always play hillcrest when we are in town. Very good value too.

We played at 1:30 so got an afternoon rate, 50% off. I would not pay $150 per person to play but at $75 each, great price. The course was in very good condition for the end of Feb. These are HIGHLY undulating greens!!!! and quite fast. For me, they were a pile of fun to putt on, not so much for my wife. I am glad we played now before the course is lined with houses. I do not think we would come back once all the houses line the fairways. The clubhouse is beautiful. 6 bottles of water provide on the cart - nice touch. Fairways are generally quite wide, bunkers, lots of them.

this is about the 4th time we have played here. I like playing here. The greens looked great but putted slow. I like the layout of the course. I find it interesting to play. Fair bit of water and quite a few bunkers. Playing this time of year, the dormant grass usually leaves a shot on hard ground. Quite a bit of "desert' dirt/gravel which is not the easiest to play off of. Will we come back, yup. Marshalls were very friendly. Played in slightly less than 4 hours

This is not a high end golf course. However, it is priced very reasonable. It is not difficult to play. It is not challenging. Greens are straight forward and a bit slow. bunkers are not the best. Played in just under 4 hours. If you are a mid handicapper, it is a great course to 'warm up on'. Note, hit a colored ball off the first tee as the driving range is RIGHT beside the 1st fairway and there are range balls all along the right side. Just makes finding and playing easier.

Very friendly staff. Great layout. Back 9 is trickier layout than front 9. Front 9 is in the middle of new residential construcion so a bit noisy. Best overseeded greens we played on this trip. Almost like real greens! Straigjt off the T is imperative as wayward drives will end up in the rocks. Beverage cart came by twice on front and twice on back 9. Lots of water on the course. Bunkers were good to hit out of. Most sprinkler heads had yardage on them. This is not a course for a beginner or high handicapper as frustration could set in early, cause backups and reult in, any lost balls. My wife and I play 4 times per week and simply loved this course!

I have a 9.3 HP Index. Ii loved this course. Not because it is well manicured, high end etc. etc. I love it because it used to host a Sr. PGA tourny,, 5 times, has hosted 2 LPGA events. Now, this was back in the 80's. Much has changed with Hillcrest. It is now really only a Muni course. Obviously the course has a small maintenance budget and the up keep of the course has seen much better days. However, I loved the layout!! You can see how this course could have hosted the pros. The greens and bunkers would have been very challenging and fun to play in the 80's. Many of the greens have significant slope and would have been a real challenge in its prime. Now, well, not so much. But it is the appreciation of what Hillcrest used to be and admiring the design, layout and what the designer was trying to achieve that made Hillcrest so much fun for me to play. If you are looking for a high-end, pristine, TPC type course - stay away!!! If you are an avid golfer who wants to play a round down memory lane, this is for you. Higher handicappers would also do fine here. This was my first time playing Hillcrest but certainly will not be my last!

Open fairways but deceiving hard course. Some long holes. Bunkers are hard sand and not easy to hit out of. We played 2 days after opening after top seeding so course conditions were what you would expect. Enjoyed our day

We have played here a few times. Just played Sept 30 and it was a bit dry. No one in front or behind so we played in 3 hrs with a cart. Fairways had the ball running some, greens a bit slow. Bunkers are rock hard. Wide open fairways and a fair bit of water comes into play. Snack shack at this time of year is a total waste of your time. Pro shop sells beer though. We paid $60 all in for 2 x 18 holes. This is very good value. Will we play here again, certainly

This is NOT your snooty, overpriced, championship course. It is a friendly, well laid out course that was in good shape. Players here tend to be on the + side of 50 and are not pretentious in any way. This was exactly the type of course we were looking to play. You wife and I enjoyed playing union hills and will be sure to return. I am a 15 handicapper.
