SO I tell my friend we are going to play The Groves, a short course par 67 and he pitches a fit. He wants to play a regular par 72 but it might rain so he agrees to go. He didn't realize what he was in for.
This "short course" will totally challenge you from 1st tee to the 18th green and you will have a blast. It may be short but you will go home exhausted and completely satisfied.
They have had a lot of rain and it was cart path only but the greens keepers are doing an incredible job managing the conditions. The fairways are beautiful and pristine, the greens are in superior condition and roll straight and true.
I highly recommend you play here this fall, you'll keep coming back.

This is a deceptive golf course. You look at the length and say it's a short course but this baby can turn on you. You need to be on your game here.
The course conditions were perfect, awesome thick fairways and perfect greens make playing a pleasure like it's supposed to be.

I've have enjoyed playing this course since 1990, it's had it's share of ups and downs over 30 years but it's reached the end of it's useful life. This is hard to say but this is one course that I'd be willing to let the developers take over for condo's. Money wise it would be in the owners best interests to close the course and sell the property as it cannot continue like it is.
Very sad indeed.

We had a great day playing the Groves in Land O Lakes. This is a short course but don't be fooled by it's length. it is a challenge to navigate well. There is a lot of movement, right to left, left to right, dog legs, hidden greens, C shaped fairways, you name it. The greens are in awesome condition, none better.
