Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Oaks/Marsh Course
Played On 05/31/2023Heron Creek Never Disappoints
Heron Creek never disappoints and is one of the nicest courses in the tri-county area. Rotating 9’s keeps play fresh and despite a busy season and little rain, the course was in great shape for late May. Greens were fast but in good shape as were fairways and tee boxes. Pace was decent for a busy morning, just over 4 overs for a foursome. Love the amenities here with free range balls, chipping area, and water/ice stations. Staff is friendly. Definitely recommend this challenging but fun course
Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Oaks/Marsh Course
Played On 04/17/2021Heron Creek Didn’t Disappoint!
First time playing Heron Creek in over 10 years but had heard it was in great shape and a must-play with summer rates coming into swing. Couldn’t beat playing 18 for $39! The range and facilities were great and loved playing the Creek and Oaks 9s. Definitely a challenging course once you get up to the greens with wicked greens and undulations forcing you to have a great approach shot or pay for it later. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in great shape and feel I will improve next time knowing the layout a little better. Was held up a little by a foursome in front of our 4 but we still played in 4 1/2 hours. Heron Creek lived up to the hype and I’ll definitely be back!
Wow! We are so happy you enjoyed your round! We look forward to seeing you again soon at Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Oaks/Marsh Course.
Waterlefe Golf & River Club
Played On 11/22/2020My new favorite course in 941
My first time playing Waterlefe and came in with high expectations after hearing great reviews from others. I was not disappointed! The course was in fantastic shape with fairways, rough, and greens well-manicured and lush. Greens were a touch fast but played well. The layout is terrific, especially on the back nine with the course following the canals off the Manatee River. Was the last twosome to tee off at 2 pm and still managed to finish right before sunset. The rates are also great in the afternoon. Why pay $40 at an average course when you can play a great course like this for only $10 more. Thoroughly impressed with Waterlefe and can’t wait to come back!
Serenoa Golf Club
Played On 09/08/2020Bringing Serenoa Back
First time playing Serenoa in several months and was happy to see money being invested and improvements being made. The driving range is being completely redone and there has been lots of tree removal on the course to improve the play and ease of some holes (holes 5, 8, 11). Also many of the cart bridges and cart paths are being repaired/redone.
The course itself was in decent shape although it was extremely wet from a weekend of rain and cart path only, no fault to Serenoa though. Greens were damp and slow but in decent condition and fairways were neat. Always love the $6 lunch special at the turn and enjoy the food and drinks in the restaurant. Will definitely be back and look forward to see the improvements finished up right before season
The Preserve Golf Club
Played On 08/12/2020Needs a lot of work
Tara Preserve is one of my favorite courses in the Sarasota/Bradenton area due to challenging and tight layout but preserve-like feel...when it’s good condition. This course has deteriorated rapidly over the summer due to change in ownership and it needs major work to return to its former glory. Most tee boxes are just sandboxs and some fairways were literally just dirt and mud, greens in rough shape around edges. I knew the course was in rough shape but was shocked to see how bad it’s gotten, I only played because the hot deal was $10. New ownership will need to put a lot of money into renovating this course. Will happily return when they do, but don’t plan on playing here again until then
River Run Golf Links
Played On 05/28/2020Good bang for the buck
First time playing River Run and pleasantly surprised how good of shape the course was in, especially considering it’s a city-owned course (City of Bradenton). Fairways and greens were pretty lush and the maintenance clearly kept it up during the COVID shutdown. Pretty open links course with a few challenging holes. Only a par 70 but for $20 with a cart and the course being in good shape, definitely worth the money. Would just like to see the clubhouse and facilities upgraded a little. Overall would recommend it to other casual golfers
Thank you for visiting us at River Run Golf Links. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
The Preserve Golf Club
Played On 03/28/2020Definitely will be back!
First time playing Tara Preserve and was very satisfied. Great course layout and although there are quite a few water hazards, it made the round challenging and fun. Greens were in great condition and the fairways only had a few dead patches scattered throughout. Pace was quick due to the open course and made for a great day of golf and social distancing. Staff was accommodating and friendly and even allowed our twosome to take two carts. Also pretty affordable compared to some of the other courses in the Lakewood ranch area. Will definitely be back and recommend to others!
Rosedale Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/01/2020One of the best summer courses in 941
First time playing Rosedale and was very impressed with the entire course. Great layout with fair mix of hazards, tight shots, and some open fairways. Fairways and greens were in great shape with only a few burnout spots on tee boxes and scattered roughs. For July in Florida, they clearly put a lot of effort into course upkeep. Clubhouse and snack bar are great and the staff was very friendly. Can’t beat the summer pricing as well. Easily one of the nicest public-playable courses in Bradenton. Will make sure to return and add it to my rotation, highly recommend!
