Best 9 Hole Course Around, Awesome Greens

If you are tired of the 5+ hour rounds on tough courses that are very expensive and you want a 3 hour round of 18 holes play this course two times around, once from the whites, then from the blues. Or a quick 9 holes with 6 par 4's and 3 par 3's for a Par 33. Challenging enough to use all your clubs and test your shot making yet player friendly. Wish there were some bunkering on a few holes, but none the less this course is probably the best value for the $$$ in the Wichita area. Very walkable for added value. With new management 2 seasons ago and plenty of rain this course is in great condition and definitely one you should play. Greens are immaculate!!!
The previous management named this course Cedar Pines, but in the spring of 2014 new management took over and named it Andover Municipal Golf Course.

Extremely Poor Green Design/Maintenance

Aside from not being told we would be following a drunken group of 54 hackers in a tournament which created very slow play with rowdiness, boom boxes on all their carts, and no consideration for public golfers at all, we found the greens in terrible condition and design. Every green is elevated up like an upside down dinner plate with steep banks all around, not allowing any run ups or chip ups. The worst green design EVER. The final 3 holes are up against a water park with blasting music and kids everywhere, which was a major distraction. It is an OLD course built on black clay, so don't expect to see any sand under the turf at the tees, fairways or greens. I will not return!!!

This course has terrible greens

All the front nine greens, including #10 were in nearly unplayable condition. All the greens, with the exception of a few on the back nine (newer addition) were tiny with too much elevation to hold a good shot. Flag sticks were all 4' tall with tiny flags making it very difficult to spot from the fairways. Overall I would not recommend this course to anyone except maybe beginners.
