West at Rancho Canada Golf Club
Played On 01/14/2016"Going down the rabbit hole"
2 different nines on the west side. Front is a relatively simple layout with a splash of water, a spit of sand and some green undulations. Back is like playing in your hallway. Condition is average and scenery is adequate. Overall, a pleasant day on the course, however there are a lot of better options in Monterey.
Salinas Fairways Golf Course
Played On 01/07/2016Excellent public course
Not Pebble Beach, but a nice, affordable, track that poses some challenges. If you want to be treated well and play an economical round this is the place for you.
Monterey Pines Golf Club
Played On 01/04/2016value course in an expensive area
A well maintained public course that is a better than average track. am told the greens are generally great although this day they had recently been punched. Overall, a nice day and I will play it again.
Black Horse at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course
Played On 12/29/2015Little brother beats big brother
Bayonet has always held the top spot of this two course complex. After playing, however, I must say I like this one better. Shot selection is more varied, condition was better and greens were more challenging. In the middle of our year end trip to Monterey I rate this course third, so far, behind only Poppy Hills and Pebble Beach! A wonderful day on the course!
Laguna Seca Golf Club
Played On 12/28/2015Pleasant mid-level course
Nice variety of holes in decent condition for December. Lots of elevation changes yet, if ball is positioned properly, your shots are played from good, level fairways. Staff could be more helpful with course tips, but overeall, a good experience.

Short and tricky public course. conditions reflected budget to spend. Beautiful ocean views on the back 9. Very affordable option to groove your swing before taking on the big peninsula courses.
Del Monte™ Golf Course
Played On 12/23/2015oldest course west of the mississippi
Take a course in patience. Not long ,( 6365) from the back, however each shot must be played as if the round depended on it. even after 2 days of rain, the greens were fast and true. Overall, you will greatly enjoy a round here and on a pristine day, it will be memorable!
The Bayonet at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course
Played On 12/22/2015Wind and Rain and it doesn't get much better!
On a less than stellar day, this course played true and fair. Each hole is its' own, each shot a challenge. Played from the appropriate tee, this jewel can be enjoyed by all.
