Played On 11/04/2020Decided to play here because course was in great condition 2 months ago. Not so great now after lousy weather in Indiana. Tees and fairways need work. Greens had been recently aerated so putts would not roll well at all. Glad I got it with a hot deal!.
Bear Slide Golf Club
Played On 09/21/2020Course was generally in good shape, but Very wet in some places. Need to work on their drainage in some fairways.
You played Monday. After letting the course dry down for a tournament over the weekend the fairways got extra water Monday morning. Isaac Newton called it gravity. Knobs very dry as water runs down hill making lower spots wet. Even more difficult during a DROUGHT. Sprinklers turn in circles thus not providing even coverage.

Excellent golf course, but the pace of play was severely compromised by a scramble golf tournament that teed off right before us. Was a 3 hour front 9 and the back 9 was about 2 1/2 hours. This is a course that could really use a GPS system. A whole lot of blind shots. Would definitely like to play it again when I get back to Austin; but not when they have a tournament happening.

Beautiful golf course, very well designed and maintained. However, we were not informed by GolfNow, in their course description, nor when we booked our tee time, that this course has a strict policy of “proper attire”! Consequently, when, due to the cold weather, my girlfriend wanted to play in designer jeans, this was “not allowed”. They offered to sell her “proper” clothes but she decided to just ride with me. So, they charged us an extra $18 for her to ride along with me while I played. I wasn’t aware of that charge until reviewing the bill later. My anger is not with the course, they are entitled to have their rules. My anger is with GolfNow who should let me know of course restrictions or rules, like proper attire, when I book a tee time! I paid for a premium membership, but feel I am not getting premium services!!

Greens in good condition. Tees need leveling. Sand traps are more clay than sand; need some maintence. Ponds need aeration; lots of algae. Weeds, especially thistle, need to be sprayed. Staff very courteous & friendly.
