You get a ZERO star review for charging me despite my canceling a day before.

I found Montebello to be a beautiful course; it is well maintained and groomed, challenging, and worth the time and money. I just wish the pace was not so slow... for a course where the Marshall was omnipresent, he did nothing to speed things up. Oh, and add a drink cart!

I was surprised by the pace of play... such a great course on Memorial Day, and we were still done inside 4h15?! Wow. The course was in great shape, and aside from there being no cart girl, I had a great round.

I am new to SoCal so my friend has been taking me around to a few different courses. Before I arrived at Simi Hills I was a bit worried that it was pricier than the other courses we had played; once we got going I knew exactly where that money went, and what great value it was! The fairways are gorgeous, the greens were perfect. I won't lie, I thought the GPS in the cart was overkill, but it did come in handy.

If I could have replayed two holes I would have had my best round of the year... but that's part of life. The pace of play was so much more reasonable that any of the other courses I have played around here... for a Sunday I was thrilled!

I have played Alhambra several times, and this was the first time I had no issues... with the exception of the pace of play, which is what to expect on a weekend at a public course.

The greens were good (although hard to read, and probably cost me 8 strokes based on just-missed putts), the fairways were in good shape, and the trees did not seem interested in impeding my balls. It was a good day at Alhambra!

The course was okay, but the greens were not well maintained - they were like fairways.

I was not expecting much more than we got from this course - it was a typical municipal course. The amenities were few, the employees were city employees. The course was in decent shape and was reasonably enjoyable.

The problem with courses that are close by and reasonably priced is that everyone wants to play them. The afternoon we played here was no exception, and despite the forecast saying 50% chance of rain, everyone came out. As I looked around the pro shop I heard the staff put several five-somes out, although they denied it when I asked about it. It was a slow paced day and hard to get into a rhythm. What can you do?

Also, there are two distinct courses there: the Harding and the Wilson. The app only knows about one of them, so scoring was thrown off - I played Wilson so it looked like I was playing 4-over on Par 3s while birdying all the Par 5s.

This is not an easy course! Driving to it you are driving uphill through Burbank, and the climb doesn’t stop when you get to the course. The 10th tee feels like you are looking straight up the hill. Challenging but enjoyable... I only wish it was a little quicker paced.
