Oak Brook Golf Club
Played On 08/21/2023Fun Experience
Challenging course in good condition. Challenge mostly due to undulating greens and some tricky pin locations.
Pace of play was a little slow on the front, but the amount of golfers on the course on a Monday afternoon spoke to the popularity and enjoyment of this course.
Will definitely play it again.
Western Skies Golf Club
Played On 03/01/2020Solid Value on a Public Course
We were pleasantly surprised with the course conditions, what an enjoyable course to play.
Greens and fairways have been kept up, and putting was true.
The amenities include a driving range and nice restaurant, and the staff was friendly and energetic.
Pace of play was poor, but I realize it was a Sunday afternoon, so not totally unexpected.
Nice value at a local public course, give it a try.
White at Gleneagles Country Club
Played On 04/08/2019Pleasant Round of Golf
The course played in four hours, so play was steady. The white tees allow bogie golfers to reach the greens in regulation, though the challenge is smaller greens and plenty of break on the putts.
The course had some ground under repair, the recent rains have produced sections of wet rough.
The halfway house was not open, and water coolers had not been put out, so will bring our own going forward.
George W Dunne National Golf Course
Played On 07/14/2018Challenging Course, Enjoyable Day
With the exception of the sand traps, I felt everything about this course was well done.
The generous tiered greens create some tough putts, but are kept in great shape.
The staff was helpful and pleasant, and rangers kept pace of play going.
Broken Arrow Golf Club - South/East
Played On 07/11/2018Enjoyable Round
Broken Arrow is a solid course, challenging with uneven lies if you roam from the fairway, but you can score well when hitting straight.
The greens were well kept, and rolled true. Again, the key is ball placement because the greens have undulations.
There are quite a few blind shots and tight approach shots that require prior knowledge and solid ball striking.
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our round of golf today.
White at Gleneagles Country Club
Played On 05/24/2018Fun to play, tough greens
The course was enjoyable, with room to spray your drives and still get to the greens. Once on the greens, your position was critical due to fast greens with severe breaks, especially being above the hole. It seemed like every hole was pitched, and the greens were cut fast, requiring both pace and line accuracy to hole longer putts. The value was great through golfnow, and it was enjoyable to play.
Old Oak Country Club
Played On 08/16/2017Tight, but fair Layout
The course was fair, and was a version of target golf. Playing the white tees, since it was our first time, it was more important to play location. The tight fairways lined with trees on many holes required this, with plenty of and or water thrown in to reward accuracy before length.
The putting was a big challenge with many holes placed on ridges, so lagging was tough, and often if you missed the putt, it rolled past 5-10 feet.
Village Greens of Woodridge
Played On 05/16/2017Solid Value
The course is well kept. The greens were in good shape though some of the pin placements were tough.
Wide open course allows you to spray your shots, and recover.
This would be good outing course.
Odyssey Golf Course
Played On 04/18/2017Good value for the Price
First time on this course, and plenty of water and traps to make it a challenge.
Based on skill, you can play white tees to score or blue tees that would bring hazards into play more.
Course conditions are average, run by a non-profit, nice round for the money.
Carriage Greens Country Club
Played On 06/26/2015Good course for the money
The course was very fair, we knew target golf was best strategy. This is due to many holes with doglegs.
Greens were flat, allowing long and short putts a chance.
We enjoyed the course, despite the pouring rain on the last few holes.
