Monroe Country Club
Played On 12/12/2022Don’t come!
Just kidding! I’m a member and we love our course and want you to come experience it too. There is no water that really comes into play on the course. But it still presents challenges.

Great prices and great course conditions. Love the Donald Ross front 9 pair with Tom Jackson’s back 9.

A test of your game from two different 9s. Front side Donald Ross, like all other Ross layouts, puts a premium on the short game. The back is more wooded, and park like layout, with more opportunities to score well. I played early, with a walker, and we played at a very enjoyable pace.

The rangers here as worthless as they come. It took us 2:40 to play the front nine. The group in front of us quit is was so slow, and even though we complained the ranger wouldn’t do anything about the group that had the entire golf course backed up. We eventually played through the slow group on the 12th hole and finished the back nine in under 2 hours (because we had the entire back nine open in front of us).
Beachwood Golf Club
Played On 08/27/2017Great value
I play Beachwood most every trip to Myrtle Beach. I stay here on the north end and it is only 5 minutes away. Course is in pretty good shape, the greens are good quality Bermuda grass that roll pretty well. For the price you cant go wrong.

This course is a great value. The front 9 is a classic Donald Ross design. Very challenging around the greens. The back nine is a Tom Jackson layout, and is more of a challenge tee to green. I like getting two different looks in one round of golf. The greens are always in good shape here and the tee boxes are well maintained as well. The only drawback of this course is that the range is a long way from the clubhouse. Plan accordingly.

Played On 04/12/2017Nice enough
The course is a nice enough layout, it was early spring so the Bermuda was still mostly dormant. The bunkers could use some work and clean up around the edges. Greens were in good shape, and they rolled well.
