Palm Royale Country Club
Played On 04/23/2021Short Game Practice
Course was in great shape. My only critique is that not everyone fixes their ball marks on the greens. With the holes averaging around 100yds there are a lot of ball marks.
It’s a minor gripe considering how well the course is maintained

No place better to practice your short game 85-100yds. The greens are in very good shape with a good variety of back to front slopes. Throw in some subtle breaks with pin placements on tiers and it forces you to hit spots on the greens.
Someone in your group not a “golfer” ? No problem. Holes are short. 2hrs usual pace to play 18 holes. Come out late afternoon and still get 18 in. Greens fees around $23. $19 twilight.
Heritage Palms Golf Club
Played On 07/04/2019Great Shape
Tremendous value. July 4th in the desert and the greens are in excellent condition. Played as a single in 2:20. (I confess to hitting a second ball a couple of times)
Played the course for years and have never been disappointed in Course condition.

Took a friend to play the course for the first time. He loved it. Excellent course condition! This time of year in the desert can be problematic in terms of greens and fairways. No such problems at Heritage Palms. Superintendent deserves a raise!!
Keep up the good work. Definitely playing again in the coming weeks.

Not the hardest course you'll ever play but always in excellent condition. Superintendent and crew does an great job in keeping the course in great shape year round.
The greens year round are in outstanding condition
Heritage Palms Golf Club
Played On 07/09/2017Best $8 round of my life
Excellent course condition. Please take into account that it's been 110 degrees for most of the summer so far. That's not counting the 120+ degree days. Greens were in very good shape. Fairways were 90% green at least. Courses in our area have been working with mandated water restrictions all year. The Superintendent does a tremendous job.
The course is not going to beat you up. The pace of play is good. Playing Heritage Palms does require a player to think about where to hit the shot to give themselves the best chance for scoring. Mid to higher handicaps will probably enjoy the course more than solid single digits (who might find it a little easy).
The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote
Played On 10/16/2016Last Minute Golf
In town for U of A football game. Spent the night at Starr Pass Resort. Saw the course from the hotel and decided last minute to play 9 holes before driving home.
We played The Roadrunner Course. Cart path only because of overseeding. Fairways are pretty narrow so walking to your ball was not a big issue.
Fairways were in beautiful condition. Greens were very soft and slow as you would expect after over seeding. We were fortunate to be paired with two local players whose information was invaluable in terms of distance and positioning drives and approach shot
The elevation changes the views combined to make it a spectacular course. wife and I are looking forward to returning to Arizona and playing the other 9's
Both inside and outside staff were excellent. If you are making a trip to Tucson would highly recommend Starr Pass
PGA WEST Greg Norman Course
Played On 07/24/2016Superintendent deserves a raise
Course was in excellent condition. For someone reading this review take into account I played at 12 noon on July 24. Maybe 2 greens were in "tough" shape. . If you've played in the Coachella Valley in the summer you know that condition of traps can be problematic. The sand was in very good shape. No firsthand knowledge since I avoided them all day!!
definitely play if you have the chance
PGA WEST Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course
Played On 06/23/2016PGA West for under $30
Course was in good shape considering time of year (June). Teed off at noon on Thursday the 23rd. 4some ahead of us but really never had to wait. My only negative comment would be about the condition of the greens. Let me qualify my comments. It's hot in the desert. Monday the temp was 123 degrees (not a typo). Thursday was 110. The four of us who played all live here None of us thought it was unpleasant.
Because of the drought here in California we're under water restrictions. All the courses down here do a great job keeping the courses up under difficult conditions. Just don't expect perfect roll and consistent speed
PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course
Played On 05/31/2015Good shape
May 31st 100 degrees. Greens in nice shape. Pace of play was ok. Was behind a couple that was a little slow. I played as a single so to single them out would be unfair. They waved me through after 9 holes. Love summer golf. $18 greens fee. Still a great course at twice the price!
