Revere Golf Club - Lexington Course
Played On 07/26/2020Not family friendly
My family traveled across the country during the Covid pandemic to visit 2 family members and enjoy a 1/2 day of golf with them during this difficult season of a “global pandemic.” We own restaurants so we get difficult customers and the struggle of customer service. We get trying your best to always thrive and keep “I’m in a hurry; entitled” customers satisfied. We usually offer lots of mercy and grace for less than par service. The parking lot and course at Revere was NOT even close to full. All of the staff in the facility and outside helping gets carts loaded up were super awesome and friendly, and the course was beautiful and well kept, EXCEPT one angry golf course monitor. He was so extremely and unnecessarily rude. We realize rules have to be followed, and our family did just that as we were reprimanded, instructed and encouraged to hurry up. We tried! We play golf often and understand, BUT, this man followed us and kept on about “closing the gap” and told us we’d slowed “his entire course down.” He wasn’t remotely nice. We even eliminated a player to do just that, “close the gap.” Several times we had to wait on the group ahead of us so balls didn’t hit them, but apparently it was us holding up “his course.” He was rude about us “taking a break” for literally 5 minutes at the turn between hole 9 and 10 (by the very nice clubhouse with restrooms and a restaurant to use the facilities and grab one hotdog). He said, “We don’t take breaks.” Um, okay. Then why do you sell beverages and snacks, because most humans I know use the restroom after consumption. If you’re an expert, super quick, super serious golfer practicing for the PGA tour and looking for no fun and no relaxation this course is for you. We had fun despite the one rude employee, but we’ll play somewhere else in the future.
As someone who has played at revere >50 times I can totally agree with you. Everyone in the club house is excellent and the majority of them know me by name. But for whatever reason there are multiple starters that are unnecessarily rude. Never have I been told to speed up or harassed on the course, but its never a nice way to start your round when someone isn't friendly and welcoming.
We are so sorry to hear about your experience. Could you please share further details with us directly by emailing our Director of Golf Tyce Calvert at TCalvert@reveregolf.com
We'd love to know when you played and if you by chance had any names from these staff members.
5 star customer service is what we strive for and we apologize that we fell short of that experience for you.
Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you.
