Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 02/19/2024It's winter...
Considering our very cold spell in January, The course was in as good condition as can be expected. Pace of play was the best I've experienced in 10 years playing here. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The only thing that has changed in the last eight or nine months at Coyote Ridge is the prices keep going up up. It's a nice course but it's definitely reached the Pinnacle of it may be getting more than it's worth. The only good thing about the price is it's keeping mediocre recreational golfers away which has definitely made the pace of play much more bearable. They still have bunkers that they started to rebuild a year ago that are not done I don't think they should be charging the prices they're charging until they at least get the course completed

Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 08/07/2023Nothing's changed
Coyote Ridge is a very nice course and the conditions are great considering the extremely hot weather we've been having. However, they keep raising prices and the "value for $$ paid" has exceeded what the course is actually worth especially on a week day. I checked yes I would recommend, but only if you can easily afford it. Pace of ply is always very slow on weekends

Ever since Sam Moon sold this course the conditions have deteriorated quite noticeably. The one thing that has not changed is if you play on a weekend count on a 5-hour round of golf. It is pathetic that they have the very first hole cart path only even when it's bone dry. Along with the other holes that are cart path only with absolutely no need to be cart path only.
Hi, thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at Coyote Ridge Golf Club!
Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
Played On 09/18/2022S L O W
I play my golf at a country club. When there's a tournament I never join in because I cannot play on saturdays. Therefore I pick a public course to play on Sunday. Occasionally I will play Bear Creek. But that's only after I forget how absolutely slow this course is. I have never played this course in less than four and a half hours this particular round was 5 hours and 5 minutes mind boggling and brutal when it's that hot. The course was in good shape but the pace of play was killer. The other super negative of this course are the golf carts they are ancient gas powered carts that are totally unresponsive sometimes backfire and I can walk faster than the cart I was in would go on this particular day. This course is really missing the boat by allowing such pitifully slow play and not updating their cards

Played On 07/24/2022A hotter it gets the worse it gets
Course is now thoroughly scorched and burned up the greens are the slowest greens I've ever played this time of year. The cart paths are brutal downright bone jarring. As I said in my last review it should literally be against the law not to have water stations on a Texas golf course in the middle of summer when it's above one hundred degrees every day. It's virtually impossible to get a tee into the ground on some tee boxes
Hi, zrick1. Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about water on the course is important to us. We do not provide water coolers as we have no control over them once they are out to ensure they are sanitary. We do allow outside drinks. We do not allow outside alcoholic beverages. You are welcome to bring your own bottled water, Gatorade, or another refreshment as long as it is alcohol-free. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Riverchase Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
Riverchase Golf Club
Played On 06/12/2022Not bad for Riverchase
Course was in better than average condition for Riverchase, which is not a compliment. Fairways are not burned out, yet. Greens were the slowest greens I've played in ages. Some sand traps had sand, but most didn't. No water at any of the tee boxes, which should be illegal when it's over 100 degrees in the shade. Pace of play was very slow and there were no marshals to be seen on the course to even try to speed things up.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 05/22/2022Still SLOW
Very nice course, but they do not and will not do anything about SLOW play. Golf is not a 5 hour game. I only play here when I forget how SLOW it always is. Also, when the sand traps are out of play til fall and the whole course is freshly punched/aeriated $100 is way too expensive.
We apologize for the pace of play issue and the course conditions you experienced at our course. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Coyote Ridge Golf Club

Course was in good shape for February. Practice area is small and always off mats unless you're a "member."
They never send marshals out to speed up the pace of play. The group in front of the group in front of us had 2 open holes in front of them and nobody would do anything about it. S L O W play is disgusting and there is no reason for it.

The Trails of Frisco Golf Club
Played On 02/07/2022Nice winter round of golf
It was Monday, so the pace of play was excellent (3.5 hours) weather was very nice for early February. I rarely play this course even though I like it a lot. They do not allow single booking on Golf Now, I wish they did. I play at a country club and only play public courses when there are tournaments or events that I can't participate in. Course was in good shape for winter, but there are weeds popping up on the greens that they need to get under control. Was also surprised they hadn't painted the greens and tee boxes as most courses do and some paint the fairways. Golf cart seats are in terrible condition...
Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
Played On 01/23/2022Always S L O W
From a distance the course looked very good for winter. However, that was just green paint on mostly bare fairways LOL. If your ball landed on a hill, it would roll back, or forward to the flat area. (no grass) I don't believe I've ever played this course in less than 4.5 hours. This round I quit after 14 holes as I got so much back stiffness I could hardly swing. Those 14 holes took over 4.5 hours. 2 of the guys I was with quit after 9 because of the slowness. This is the only course I've ever played that has taken GPS off the carts (which adds to the slow play) and the cart I was driving (natural gas) barely ran and would take about 10 foot peddle presses to get going. This course is always packed (at least on weekends) so there is no reason to take away GPS from carts and not have carts that actually work.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 12/24/2021Very nice public course
For the last 10 years this has been a much better than average public golf course. Now it's slightly better than average conditions are about average for the most part greens are a little better than average fairways average bunkers below average. You would think since they're push is to make this a private course that they would be taking much better care of the course. I can't see this becoming a popular private course with the very limited practice facility and an average course conditions at best. Another thing that has always plagued this particular golf course is slow pace of play.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Coyote Ridge Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.

Every time I forget how slow the pace is here, I mistakenly try it again. Took 2 and 3/4 hours to play 9 holes at which point I quit. People serving food were no wearing masks! FORGET this place!
Riverchase Golf Club
Played On 08/12/2018Going down fast
I'm a country club golfer who plays public courses a few times per month. I've played Riverchase literally since it opened. I was very nice and quite popular 25 years ago but has continued to go down hill. It has, in my opinion reached the bottom of the barrel for public courses in the DFW area. Half the greens are in "OK" condition and the rest are marginal at best. ALL of the fairways are in TERRIBLE condition even after 3 days of rain, including today. I'v not seen fairways this bad since I was kid and watering technology was non-existent or in it's infancy. Tee boxes are uneven and have lots of bare spots. The cart paths are literally dangerous as they all crumbling and heaving.
I played Luna Vista last Monday (Dallas municipal course) and it is in 10 times better shape than Riverchase. Riverchase is almost un-playable and I will never play this course again.
Omni La Costa Resort & Spa - Legends Course
Played On 05/22/2018Aging yet still wonderful
I played both courses at the Omni La Costa and both were fun and challenging. They are two totally different types of experiences as the legends is a lush green country club/resort type experience and the champions is a less manicured desert/natural grasslands experience. I was amazed how wide open the tee times were and how i didn't ever see another golfer within 2 holes of me. played 3 rounds here and played each in under 3.5 hours.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 02/26/2018Nice public course
I played this course because the course (only one open on Mondays} at my country club was closed for a tournament (not real happy about that). I've played this course several times over the years and it's quite nice for a public course but as always has been the case in the past and true this time, the pace of play is very slow. I believe this it because the clientele just doesn't "get it" when it comes to golf etiquette. The group in front of us was hitting multiple tee shots on just about every hole and even as many as 3 shots from the fairway. (I'm talking each golfer in the 4-some, idiots!) There are also a few "blind" holes which slows the pace a bit.
Funny there is a "did you walk" mandatory choice, but this course and many others don't allow walking. It's a shame about the pace of play at this course as it's always been in very nice condition when I've played and was in as good condition as my country club, which is saying a lot this time of year in Texas for a public course.
