Franklin Canyon Golf Course
Played On 10/19/2019Not in great condition
It is in a pretty setting, the staff is very friendly, and the greens are in good condition. The pace of play was 4h30, which is great for a public course on a weekend. There is hardly any grass outside of greens and tee boxes, just a few brown patches. Rough is mostly dirt, as are the bunkers. The course looks nothing like the nice pictures online. Price would be good if the course was in better shape. Otherwise seems steep for a dirt track.
Shorecliffs Golf Club
Played On 08/09/2014Good course for the money
I played for the first time and had my son with me. I am not sure I understand the negative review some people wrote. This is a decent public course that provides higher than average challenge for the typical golfer and a great value for money if you get the discounted rate.
Everything other people wrote about the narrow fairways and small greens is true - there is little room beyond the narrow fairways and some fairways are <20 yards wide in the landing areas, forcing you to think hard about which club to use from the tee box. The greens are on the quick side for a public course and very true. As long as you play smart and don't use the driver on most holes (my son did, me not so much) you can score well and enjoy the round. Otherwise be prepared to lose a lot of golf balls. We enjoyed our round.
