Arizona Golf Resort

Old school municipal looking course. Flat, boring, crowded. I , just like the two guys I was paired with, got it confused with Arizona GRAND Resort. Which is nicer. If you want a cheap place to play, this is it. If you want a nice place to play, this is not it.
Quintero Golf Club

Quintero is classic desert golf. Great layout, dramatic holes, fun to play. If you aren’t from Arizona, and you want to see what desert golf is all about- this is the place for you!
Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge

Very nice course. Very fair- not too difficult. Beautiful views, nice facilities. Very enjoyable round. I played on a Tuesday with a foursome, and we never saw another group- either in front of us, or behind us.
The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote

Excellent course. Great desert feel- lots of saguaros and other cacti. Big elevation changes- some excellent views of Tucson and the Catalina Mountains. Overall a great experience. I would recommend it to my friends, and I hope to play it again.

Greens were FAST! 3 putting is a possibility on every green. But course was fun. Nice layout. Had a real "homey" feel to it. Its not slick and fancy like Quinterro or the Boulders, but a nice comfortable old school course. I enjoyed playing it.
Camelback Golf Club - Ambiente Course
Played On 12/02/2017Course is in fantastic shape- layout a little boring
The course is built around an arroyo. The first 10 holes go straight out one side of it, the last 8 holes come back the other side of it. So the layout was a little boring. Many of the holes looked the same. Par 3's were ALL 200+ yards. It was in lush, pristine condition, but I thought the layout was repetitive. I'm glad I played it. Nice clubhouse and great burger.
The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Saguaro/Tortolita

If you have never been to Arizona, or if you want the quintessential desert golf outing, this is the place to play. Stunning views, great layout. There are no houses on the back 9 at all, so it is a very serene, setting. Just a great course all around. Can't wait to go back.
South at Boulders Golf Club & Resort

Almost every hole could have been the "signature" hole. Boulders, cacti, wilderness areas, rabbits, quail, - this course has it all. If you love the desert, this course is for you. I had dreamed of playing here- and it was everything I hope it would be. Its pricey, so I won't be playing here often, but it was a real treat- I hope to be back again. If you get a chance to play it- go for it. You will NOT be disappointed.
