Plumas Pines Golf Resort
Played On 07/17/2015Beautiful Place To Golf
Greens have some subtle breaks, more than big undulations, and were pretty fast. Course is a little narrow, but not as much as it appears. Ball carries a little farther at 4,000+ elevation. Really nice course in great condition. Hope to play it again soon, before I forget everything I learned yesterday!
Wildhawk Golf Club
Played On 05/25/2015Course in very good shape
Course, as always, is in very good shape. Greens are rolling well and pretty quick. Only negative factor was the placement of several of the "white" tee blocks. For whatever reason, they were moved way forward, up to the "green" tees. Although the scorecard says 5,800+ yards for the whites, it played much shorter. Several hundred yards so, I would guess. If I wanted to play a short course, I would choose the short tees myself. 5,800 yards is already pretty short, I certainly didn't want it any shorter.
Plumas Lake Golf & Country Club
Played On 10/05/2014Very good greens
Course is in very good shape. Greens are fast and true, with a few ball marks here and there. Overall, don't know that I have seen this course in better shape. Pretty wet early, so keep it in the short grass.
Nakoma Golf Resort - Dragon Course
Played On 09/28/2014Fantastic Course
Words don't do this course justice. The course is beautiful, as is the awesome country it sits in. Although it was raining most of the round, the course was still very playable and we had it to our selves. Greens, even wet, were really quick and massively contoured. i. e., very tough. Better leave your ball below the hole, or you are in for a ride. Can't imagine how tough they would be when dry and rolling their fastest. There are a few holes with hazards that surprise, cutting across the middle of the fairway but out of sight due to the terrain. Do your homework, buy a yardage book, whatever it takes, it will save some strokes. Played it two days in a row and can't wait to go back!
Whitney Oaks Golf Club
Played On 5/20/2013Good features, great price
The course was in good shape overall. Greens were very good, but the fairways were a little thin already. Plenty of character on the greens and the course itself.
The Lincoln Hills Golf Club - Orchard Course
Played On 5/17/2013Course is in great shape
Although there were a lot of golfers, pace of play was very good. Course is visually appealing and very well maintained. Lots of different types of hazards, yet plenty of room in the fairways. Really nice greens, lots of character and in very good condition.
Morgan Creek Golf and Country Club
Played On 4/29/2013Very nice course, good price
Course is in great shape and the price is less than the regular city and county courses around here.
Diamond Oaks Municipal Golf Course
Played On 4/26/2013Good, but not great.
Tee blocks were in poor condition. Fairways were in really good condition. Greens had been punched recently, apparently, and need some more time to smooth out. Putting was a challenge due to the punching holes and how slow the greens rolled.
Rocklin Golf Club
Played On 2/3/2013The course, as usual, was fun to play.
The course was generally in good condition, however the sand traps needed some attention. There were many animal and man tracks, which resulted in some unfortunate lies.
Apple Mountain Golf Resort
Played On 10/29/2012Great course, terrible pin locations
Pins were put in the worst, and unfair, locations possible, intentionally. Per the pro shop, they do this for Halloween, or something. They may think it funny, but I didn't find anything funny about multiple 3, 4, and even 5 putts! Wouldn't play it again with these pin locations.
