West Middlesex
Played On 02/04/2022Very good condition for time of year
Had a really nice round of golf at West Middlesex.
First thing is they have improves the small practice area , now very nice new nets and mats all under cover.
Course in really good condition for the time of year , with decent fairways, rough not too punishing and some very good greens.
There were 4 temporary greens in operation , but we were told that before we started and perfectly understandable that they had to protect a few so they can recover.
Other players on course friendly and 4 ball called us through as soon as they were able showing great course etticut. 19th hole decent enough with some good choice in drinks (although they had run out of Aspall's) but marked down to 3 star as kitchen staff had left early so no food.
Richings Park Golf Club
Played On 02/02/2022All in all enjoyable
Course in good condition fir the time of the year. Fairways pretty good and rough not too harsh. Greens OK but kinda what you expect for this time of year .. little bobbly.
Pace of round good and great etticut shown by members to let us tee off before them and by 3 ball in front of us who let us pass on 3rd hole.
All in all an enjoyable round of golf, I just feel that like most Golf courses now mid-week the prices are a little high.
Shendish Manor Hotel & Golf Club
Played On 05/14/2021Nice course, just not a great course
Not sure how to really explain it , other than to say the course itself is 'OK'. It was all very well kept with good greens, but just wasnt overly impressed with the holes, of all of them I would say the 8th was my favourite.
The back 9 was a little trickier as people say, but other than a few tigh holes , i think most would cope well.
One thing that was a little silly is the t design of a few holes you either have to wait or ne very mindful of others due to some being in very close proximity to others.
Amenities and staff both great, overall definitely worth a visit , just dont expect to be wow'd.
Haste Hill Golf Club
Played On 06/16/2020Really good condition public course
Course in probably in the best condition that I can recall for some time and considering the price and that it's a public course there is nothing to complain about.
Bunkers all very good now and have deep quality sand, fairways and rough - no complaints. Majority of tee boxes ok , few could do with a little TLC. Greens, again ok, could be better as they are currently highly sanded so difficult to get consistent role and to take expected breaks .
The course presents a decent challenge with in the main a very good variety of different types of hole and layout.
The round itself was a bit slow due to being held up behind two new(er) / higher handicap golfers for practically the entire round (and lets be honest none of us like waiting 5+ minutes on most holes just to tee off).
Whilst getting held up or indeed holding others up is part and parcel and we have to accommodate for players of all skill levels, it would just be nice if we all gave a little more thought to other players, showing a bit more eticut and letting faster players through when appropriate (as at the end of day guaranteed it will make it more enjoyable for all involved )
Staff on the whole very friendly and efficient, although reports of slow play (by others) were not followed up.
All in all a very enjoyable round of golf and I would definitely return to play again sooner rather than later.
Stockley Park Golf
Played On 09/09/2017Can't believe how poor it now is !!!!
Have played stockley over the years and it's always been a pretty decent course. Now however .... Shocking !!!
The Greens are extremely poor , the fairways not much better on most, signage poor hole to hole and the so called 'new first hole' !!!! What a joke ... A par 3 played from a winter mat and you get to play across a path with an overgrown mound on one side and a huge ditch full of mud the other -warrants, cannot believe they don't advise you of this either when booking or on arrival, if it weren't for the fact the first is a decent walk from the clubhouse most would probably go back then and there and complain - and in my opinion warrants at least £5 off just for that. All in all won't be going back in a hurry and certainly won't be recommending to anyone .
