Excellent Par 3s with undulating greens, professional level bunkers and overall a challenging test of you game. If you want/need to hone your short game, play this course.

Course in good condition but 5 hrs to complete the round. Very challenging par 3s which added to playing time as there usually were 2-3 groups waiting on the tee to play. Maybe just that day, but it seems that slow play is the norm.

Excellent course, unfortunately the bunkering was in poor condition and that shouldn't be the case at a resort of Marriott Desert Springs caliber. That's especially true with their elevated golf fees! Still an enjoyable course to play -- just don't hit it in the bunkers.

Fair course but still very wet/muddy from winter rains which contribute to very thin lies throughout the course.
Pace of play was very good and greens rolled nicely. Give a few weeks with minimal rains and the course should be in very nice condition.

This course is a hidden gem! Excellent layout, condition and pace of play. We've played this track twice in the last week and each time finished in under 4 hours. Staff very friendly and attentive. It's a semi-private club with an active membership, so some tee times are limited. Fit this one in your schedule for sure.

Greens in very good condition, fairways well maintained, overall good value for your dollars. Only con was the condition of the bunkers -- they needed deep tining to break up compacted sand. I guess the answer is... don't hit it the bunker!! Go play it and enjoy your round.

Good track with challenging greens. Fairways and green surrounds were in very poor condition. A lot of the fairways had dead grass areas where you needed to relocate your ball to an area where there was existing grass to hit off ( just playing a friendly game). Greens were slow and had numerous non-repaired ball marks. It's a shame that conditions were not better b/c it could be a great venue. Pick a better conditioned course.

We cancelled due to excessive smoke in the air from the Northern Calif "Camp" fire. Hazardous to my respiratory issues. I still would recommend the course under better air quality conditions.

The Orchard course is a nice layout, however there are issues with the maintenance. The course has extensive native grasses ( read weeds) throughout all areas to include green surrounds, open areas and even in the fairways which besides the "native grasses" have patches of sparse to no grass. Unfortunately, we caught it shortly after the greens had been punched and sanded so they were not in the best of shape. It appears there is either a lack of funds or too few grounds personnel to maintain this course to the standard that residents/members should expect. I would not reccommend this course at this time and in this condition.

Golf course was in reasonable condition but the overall appearance of the rest of the facilities didn't give the impression of an upscale golf club. They are touting a new Hovnanian housing development and if the golf course is supposed to enhance and support the desirability of these new homes -- it's not happening. More attention to daily cleanliness and grounds maintenance would help a lot. If you're just there for the golf, then go right ahead.

Very fun course to play. Conditions were very good and many challenging holes to test your skills. Pace of play was good for a nice weather Thursday. I'll definitely have it on the schedule again when we're in the Irvine, Ca area.

Overall a very enjoyable course. We've played there before and unfortunately they had a watering problem after punching tee boxes and some fairways and lost the grass. Tee boxes are coming back - but some are still pretty rough, but improving. Some fairways are not fully recovered, but are certainly playable. Given a little more time all areas should be back up to their normal excellent condition. Don't be afraid to put it on your schedule when In the Monterey area.

We were very pleased with our friendly reception and check-in process. Disappointed with an iron only driving range. Grass hitting areas were sparse and rather beat up. The condition of the course was fair - greens were good but the fairways needed cutting and water grass intrusion needs attention. Overall, there are better courses available in the area.

First time playing Bayonet and it lived up to all my expectations. We were lucky and caught a great wx day with sunny skies and moderate winds. A lot of elevation changes so be mindful when making club selections -- some uphill approaches may require 1-2 clubs more to get it to the hole. Good luck and enjoy.

Nice course with the potential to develop into a very good track. Holes were well maintained and greens ran at a moderate speed. If the complex is eventually developed into a true resort, which seems to be the plan, then more development of the golf course conditioning will be necessary if they want to compete with other resort courses in the area.

We booked this course based on favorable reviews by other players and we (wife and I) were extremely happy that we did. The course was in immaculate condition from tees to greens. We were told that there was an accidental application of a wrong chemical not too long ago that killed off all grass but the course has recovered and is better than ever. Pace of play was excellent as it only took us 3:45 to tour the 18. Greens are still a little firm from their replanting but roll true and are probably stimping at 11 or higher. Dave, their outside services/starter, was great. He provided a wealth of info about playing the course for us as 1st time visitors and provided service that went above and beyond what you would normally expect. We were so impressed with the whole experience that we immediately went back to our condo and booked another time for this coming Friday. We recently played the Wildfire Faldo course and we enjoyed this course as much if not more than the Faldo and at considerably less cost. Don't pass this one up!

Great greens stimping at 10-11. Relatively flat course but majority of the holes have some character to them. Some patchy spots in some of the fairways but overall the course was in good condition. As a retired military member, I did not have the problems at the front gate that others have stated. Would play again.
