Enjoyable Sunday afternoon of golf on a good course

I found Coldwater golf course from a recommendation through my wife from her employer. The course has recently opened from over seed. So the greens were not fully set. But very playable. The fairways and roughs were well maintained but sand traps needed some sand. Still hard packed. I really enjoyed the course layout with good contour to provide challenge to club selection. I found that pace of play was good. But that’s a variable dependent on time by of day and year. I highly recommend this course for play as I will certainly play this course again in the future. Value to play was good.

Enjoyable 4th of July golf

This course was in good condition but could stand to have more watering. There were numerous areas with no grass on the fairways but the greens were in good condition. The staff is friendly and helpful. I got on at my appointed time. There was a group of 3 in front of us so e we had a single behind us so we had him join up with us. The group ahead played very slowly but not to the point of being annoying. At the end of the day I left feeling that I really enjoyed my July 4th round of golf. I will plan to play this course again in the future.

Wickenburg weather is cooler than Phoenix.

Course is in great shape. It is well maintained. The overall experience is delightful. The staff is cordial and always willing to get you started. 12:30 in the afternoon there is no crowd or backups. I have played this course on numerous occasions. It’s one of my favorites and is a must play course. Wonderful views around the area while playing your round. The course has some challenges to offer. Due to elevation changes throughout the course. All in all I had a great time playing the course. I would highly recommend this course for your consideration.

Excellent desert links style course. Plenty of distance.

This is a great course to play. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a great day of golf. This is a true links style desert course. I found it a wonderful day driving in the desert. Great views and great golf conditions. Greens are excellent and pin placement left some challenging putts. Course has plenty of distance for the long ball hitter. The Staff and course conditions were excellent and super friendly. Pace of play was good finished in a little over 4 hours. The only notable thing was there was no beverage cart on the course. I played on a weekday (Monday) Weekends may be different. There are some serious dogleg holes and some holes where your accuracy of shot will come into play. All in all this was a great day of golf and I will play this course again. It's worth the drive to Wickenburg.

This is a very nice course to play but is not a long ball course.

When I arrived at the course, a course attendant drove a cart to my car to greet me and load my clubs. I rode over and checked in and then checked in with the starter. How often do you find that level of service at a course? To say the least I was impressed by that alone. The staff was very friendly and the starter was very good to ask if I had played the course and was quick to let me know I was going to be paired up with a couple and that we would be starting on time. The course is a short course to some degree in that it has many par 3's 2 par 4"s on the front and 3 on the back 9, and one par 5 on each the front and back. The par 5's are in the 500 yard range, while the par 4's range from 275 and up. This is a wonderful course to work on your Irons and short game but allows on many holes to get out the driver as well. Course was in good condition with well maintained greens and fairways.
I would recommend this course for play to any starting golfer as well anyone who plays in the bogey golf range. If you are looking for the long course and you're a PGA Pro then this is probably not your course Otherwise give them a try I had a very enjoyable game of golf there. The beverage cart made no less than 2 rounds per 9. So that service was excellent as well.

Nice course very friendly staff, good facilities.

This course has large greens, and was in great shape.
Played as a threesome and finished in a little less than three and a quarter hours. Starters did a great job of spacing groups so that pace and flow of play was maintained throughout the round. This course offers good distance on par 4 and 5 holes, and par 3's with some interesting challenges. All in all a good day of golf and I highly recommend this course for play. I know I will be back.

Nice short course.

Course was in good shape. Played as a threesome started at 2:15pm finished before dark. So it was 3 1/2 hours. Was playing with 2 guys of which one who had never played golf before so time wise we did pretty well. This is a good course to work on the short game. It provides some good challenges with trap placements and some well placed trees. Mostly par 3's but there are some par 4's so you can break out the driver if you wish. I would recommend this course to those who want to improve the short game.

Great course to play, Very good for golfers of all levels.

This is good course to play. While I found the fairway a little on the dry side it apparent that it is kept in good condition. The main reason for slow play is that I took a beginning golfer out who played more slowly. Had I been with an experience group I believe this is a course that can be play in the 4 hours or less range. While the course presented some challenges I found the back 9 better than the front for that. We as well stopped for lunch and I must say the quality of service and food was excellent. All the staff from the beginning to end were super friendly and very helpful as this was a first time for playing this course. All in all a great day of golf.

Thank you for coming out and your kind comments about the staff and the service you received. You make a fair assessment of the dryness, as this time of the year we force the ryegrass out with dryness on purpose to allow the dormant bermuda to transition in quickly. We hope you will join us again soon!

This was a great course to play. Had a good time.

I found the Staff the be very friendly, and helpful. Course was in great condition, green were somewhat fast which I like, and ball break followed the read. Overall the course presented a good challenge to keep the game interesting. I would highly recommend this course for play to anyone. All in all I had a real fun day on a first 100 degree day in the valley.

Course was in very good condition. Staff was super friendly.

Good course. Pace of play was good, finished as a foursome in just a little over 4 hours. Fairways and greens were in very good condition, green breaks weren't as expected but that could have been me. All in all a very good day of golf.

This is a must play course. Course is in great condition and is very well maintained. Pace of play with a 3 some was just over 4 hours. The weather was 72 degrees, The course was excellent. Staff was exceptional, value to play is worth every penny. Course is not overly difficult but challenges golfers of any level. Elevated greens and yes as they said the ball runs away from the red rock...

This is an excellent course. All the was from the Practice area to the beverage cart.

This course needs to be on your list of courses to play. Challenging fairways, fast and readable greens with a few tricks from time to time. Lots of slope to keep you on your toes. The experience starts from the turn-off from HWY-74 in the middle of nowhere. Drive through about a mile it seems of nothing. Then suddenly its there. Bag-drop when you drive in, go to parking. When you get our cart, you have a 4 minute drive to the driving range, putting greens and 1st tee. This place is amazing from arrival to departure. If you haven't played it you don't know what you are missing. This course offers everything from distance to slope to greens that will challenge you putting ability. Played in 4 1/2 hrs plus a little but enjoyed every second on the course. Views of the surroundings are unmatched anywhere in the valley. Each hole challenges you in a different way. But not so much to make the game frustrating. It just makes it better. I will play this course again. You will find that this is a course well worth the money.
I played on a summer rate but when I have guests in town I wouldn't hesitate do play anytime of year.

Very nice desert course that challenges you to work on ball placement.

This is a true desert course with washes in all the right places to challenge you ball placement skills. Course is very well maintained from tee boxes to greens. The only thing that was missing was a club house at the Turn. Cart service is excellent and 4 bottles of water with Ice in the chest was a great touch. Staff was friendly and starter gave a great briefing prior to start. Pace of play was good and course is monitored to maintain pace but in a very friendly way. I highly recommend this course as it is a gem in the desert.

Course and surroundings was good. Greens had been aerated recently which made them bumpy so putting was a challenge.

This is a great course to play. Great staff and other than the greens being bumpy course is kept in excellent condition. Give it a week and the greens will be back to normal which will be great. Course is challenging with some narrow drives on the back 9. It seemed that one hole was like hitting through a funnel backwards. Long par 5's to give the long ball hitter a workout and water hazards that run the entire fairway on a few holes. Played with 2 guys who played from the tips I played on up from them and somewhat kept up. All in all a great day of golf. Add this course to the must play list.

Great course Had a good time Playing this course

Course is Moderately difficult but has some holes that are quite challenging. This course is just short of pristine with great views of the desert and surroundings. I played the back 9 with a young man who joined up with me following a 3 some and we still finished in 31/2 hours. All in all I had a great day and got some great tips from a soon to be PGA Pro. I highly recommend adding this to a must play list.

Great course Beautiful surroundings enjoyable game. Couldn't be better.

This is a little know diamond in the desert. Course conditions were Awesome, course is maintained in Excellent condition, Staff is very friendly. Course is Challenging but not overly so. I listed at moderate but is above that. Over 7000 yards from the back but offers multiple tee boxes to match your handicap. Scorecard helps with that by suggesting the teebox by handicap. I will play this again in the very near future.

Nice natural turf course, plenty of slope greens average speed.

This is a good course for all levels of golf. We play a 4some with a junior and a novice and still finished in a reasonable time . Course has plenty of slope go provide good challenge to the game. All in all we had a great day of golf in the Pacific Northwest. I gave this a good rating only because it is more natural turf where I am more accustomed to well manicured Bermuda grass or blue grass. But I would be happy to play this course again when I'm in the area.

Course was in great shape. from fairways to greens.

This is a great course to play. If you enjoy a links style course this is for you. Note: Bring an extra ball or two because if you hit off the fairway you end up in the tall grass. You Probably won't find it! Greens and Fairways were well maintained. Pace of play was excellent I finished in 3 1/2 hours. But keep in mind that this was Monday in the summer. I have played this course during other times of the year and have never had issues with slow play as course is well monitored. Course has a great practice facility for driving, chipping and putting. All in all a great day of golf.

Great course fun to play. GPS on carts, pace is maintained by staff to eliminate slow play.

This is a well maintained course that is one that should be on everyone's must play list. Course is not easy to play but is not overly difficult as well. Views on the back 9 with elevated tee's give a great view of the East valley and the Superstition's Pace of play is well maintained by staff and on cart GPS. Great course against the edge of the Sierra's in the Carson Valley.

Course has something for everyone, up to and including the deer we saw while on the course. Tee placements allow for good golf for beginners and the best. Plenty of yardage for the long ball hitters and holes with water to keep you driving the straight ball. You can also work the fade and draw on the doglegs as they are well placed to allow you to try to take the shot. Green are large but not so large that they are easy. All in All I had a great Father's day round of golf with my son. Will play it again when I go back to visit.
