Old South Golf Links
Played On 06/16/2021Very scenic, fun layout, great value
I’ve been to the Hilton head area many tomes but first time playing here, can’t beat the price for the scenery of the holes playing on the marsh, and it’s a unique and fun layout. Will return here another time for the value and scenic views.
Oyster Reef Golf Course
Played On 06/14/2021Nice course
Outstanding par 3’s and quick scenery of the ocean on 6 and 7. There are a lot of similar par 4’s and 5’s but enjoyed all of the bunkering and trees/scenery. Course was in good shape I thought. I enjoyed my round but as I plan on visiting each course in Hilton head eventually, I probably wouldn’t be itching to return until I’ve played all the others, or for a great deal.
Harbour Town Golf Links at Sea Pines Resort
Played On 09/04/2018Awesome Experience
Playing at Harbour Town isn't just a round of golf but is an entire experience. Make sure you get there plenty early to walk around and take in the world class facilities (make sure to check out the locker room, coolest one I've been in).
You also can't beat the location, HHI and Sea Pines is one of the most special, beautiful, and peaceful settings you'll ever visit.
The course is beautiful, of course holes 17 and 18 are the most special but almost every hole is unique and memorable. Holes 13 and 14 are my other favorites. Best collection of Par 3's you can ever play. It is also the hardest course I've ever played because of the pinched holes with overhanging trees and the severeness of the bunkers, but it's all part of the experience. It's one of those courses that I'm more interested in taking in the scenery than worrying about my score, but getting a few pars and birdies is special there also.
Our caddy Zac was nice and knowledgeable and pleasant to be with. If given the option I'd pass on a caddy but I totally understand why they require them here, and it is a unique add-on to the experience. He was the best caddy we could have hoped for, keeping our round relaxed but moving us along at the same time.
This was my second time playing here. With the price point it's at, it's the kind of course I'd be willing to pay to play once every couple years. We paid $195 and I'm pretty sure that's the cheapest rate of the year. Please don't raise it much more because I'd love to play again in the future but not sure I'd pay much more.
Atlantic Dunes at Sea Pines Resort
Played On 09/02/2018One of My Favorite Courses
Pristine conditions, every hole feels like a beautiful walk through nature. Awesome staff and facilities, get there early to experience it all. I played the old Ocean Course a few times before and loved it but now it's on another level after the rebuild, a professional feeling course in the best location. Hilton Head and Sea Pines is my favorite place to visit in the US, a perfect setting for a golf course like this.
Pace of play was great, my wife and I played just after 1:00 and played the front 9 in an hour and a half, but took more time on the back just to relax take it in. I feel like I could play here every day if I lived in the area and could afford it (retirement goals).
We got a rate of $110 because I bundled into a 2 round package with Harbour Town. It would be tough to pay the $185 morning rate or $155 afternoon rate so I hope they can keep the course more affordable for the next time I visit. Thanks for the great experience!
The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks
Played On 08/26/2018Fun Mountain Course
We were in Denver for a baseball trip weekend and wanted to play a mountain course so we drove out to The Raven. There were a couple greens and tee boxes in rough shape but it didn't tarnish our round, I thought it was still in good shape overall. We definitely got the mountain course experience and the course was a fun layout. Pretty much every hole was memorable with scenic views, especially loved the downhill holes 8 and 9. Rate of $109 at noon was fair I thought, but I wouldn't want to pay more than that to play again. Staff was all nice to us.
Sandals Emerald Bay Golf Course
Played On 11/02/2017Favorite Course I've Ever Played
I've gotten to play a few PGA courses (public and one private) that have hosted yearly PGA tournaments and majors, but this is my favorite course I've ever played. It's extremely rare to be able to play 6 holes in a row directly on the ocean, like close enough to the ocean that you can toss your ball off right into the waves from each hole. These are hands down the most breathtaking views you will ever see on a golf course.
This course was actually one of the main reasons we chose this Sandals location. It was actually great value considering it was an added bonus to a resort that is fairly expensive whether you will play golf or not while there. It only cost $50 per round total for both my wife and I to play. I could easily see this course costing $300 to $500 per person per round if it were in the U.S. being oceanfront.
The 6 holes along the ocean actually looked even better in real life than the pictures show, they were breathtaking and almost worth the trip in itself. My favorite hole was #14, the short Par 4 on the tip of the peninsula, you feel like you're at the edge of the world when you approach the green. The front 9 is also fun to play with some great holes as well.
The first time we played we literally felt like the only ones on the course. We played fast through the front 9, and then spent a lot of time taking photos while playing the ocean holes on the back 9.
The course conditions might not be quite as "immaculate" as some of those other PGA courses, but it is in really great shape especially for where its location is, definitely still tournament worthy conditions (they do host a Web.com tour event).
I even ran to grab a pizza and more beets to go after 9 and they were fine with it. The second time we played there were a couple groups in front of us but the pace of play was still good. They give you beer/water with ice in the cart’s cooler, just make sure to ask them. We also stopped at the turn to get more.
We hope to return again in a few years!

We are glad to hear you stopped just before the bridge to HH to play our beautiful golf course. We offer great value, spectacular scenery and a friendly staff who hope you will play Old South again soon.
