Fairways and greens rough. All the watering slides to the front of the green so the 15 yard area before the greens are actually muddy. It's an OK golf course, but it's maintained for the tourists and no real players. I guess in a town where everyone is over 70, it makes sense. The guy in the Pro Shop named Ralph, thinks he is Don Rickles the comedian...we are getting sick of Ralph's routine....c'mon man, it's getting old. Just be polite.

The people who bought and managed the property ran it into the ground, totally ruined by staff. Best "Jones" layout in Arizona by far. Obliterated by dumb and lazy people. A shame, a tragedy, a crime beyond compare.

Lady in the Proshop isn't polite or friendly. $5 to hit range balls is unfair...worst conditioned range balls I have ever seen. No where to get refreshments on course..all the other courses in town do. Although the course layout and condition is good, the rest of the place is a dump. Sad for what is supposed to be a private club

This course is conditioned horribly and they know it, which is why they have reduced fees. BUT, I have played here a few times each of the last 6 years and since Nov 2015 I have seen very little progress to bring the course back. The lady in the Pro Shop says we are making "baby steps". Well, that's a joke because I found the entire course, especially the greens, in worse condition now, Mar 2016 than in Nov 2015. I have worked on and built courses and whomever is "trying" at Rio Rico has no clue as to what or how to manage/maintain the facility. Is a real shame, because the course design is fabulous. I watched the other day them watering and wasting water because the sprinkler heads are virtually aimed in the wrong direction. Overall, it's obvious that whomever owns this course has no money and no talent. Only way to save the greens is to dig down 8 inches, remove all and completely rebuild. The staff who are mowing the greens have no surface to mow and are mowing at an inch high. Top dressing and fill cannot fix the problem. The tees and fairways are sooo bad, any reseeding and watering is a lost effort. Such a crime to see a beautiful piece of property turned into a cattle ranch. I am very disappointed and angry to see such awful attention to quality.

Greens are poor, too much sand and small pebbles, cups are raised around the hole from poor cup cutting, bunkers full of rocks, starter is a real wise-guy, pace of play was horrific for 9am, food and beverage prices too high and $55 green fee definitely not worth the price.

course has DEFINITELY not improved, greens slow and bumpy, traps full of rocks, fairways sparse, on course yardage markers few and far between and certainly will NEVER pay $50 to play this poor excuse for a golf course. Sister course Torres Blancas is even worse. I am a 7 hdcp and expect better value. I now am playing Randolph Park in Tucson which makes Canoa look like an unkept farm.

when I arrived, the lady in the pro shop said "I wouldn't recognize the course since last year" Well , I saw no improvement. Fairways were overwatered, greens weren't mowed correctly, grass on greens is somewhat sparse and the sand bunkers are still both muddy and full of rocks. The $35 green fee is ridiculous to play this cow pasture. I mean, it could be a fine course, but it isn't maintained. Seems the plan is too run as many hacker tourists thru there as they can to stay open
