Wildcat Golf Club - The Highlands
Played On 11/17/2019Be Prepared to Wait
While it's a very good golf course, the pace of play made it tough to enjoy the round. Our group waited on the group in front of us for all eighteen holes. Many times we would drive up to the tee box to find them just teeing off. Greens were good shape and fast but in the end just too much waiting.

I've played this course many times and enjoy playing there. This past Saturday however the course was not in good condition - the greens are not in good shape (with dead spots on a few) and rolled very slow. It might be a result of the recent wet freeze and may improve but it's rough right now. I played with two guys who had not played the course before and I felt like I had to apologize for the course condition.

Very nice course; moderately challenging and in good shape. Greens were medium-fast and rolled great. Definitely would play again.

Played On 12/28/2016Good - Not Great - Track
Course was in good shape. 7:30 tee time had a fairly heavy fog and a lot of mosquitos.
Couple of complaints . . .
Starter allowed the twosome I was paired with to play out of one bag (they were good guys but it slowed us down).
Staff not exactly the friendliest and the small bucket of range balls is only a handful of balls.

Played On 06/08/2015Greens Need Some Work
Played on a Monday so pace of play was not an issue. Played 36 holes and ate lunch between rounds in about 8 and 1/2 hours. The course conditions were very good with the exception of the greens - they had been punched and were very bumpy and extremely slow. Recognizing the course has to perform maintenance and since the rest of the course was in good shape, I can give them the benefit of the doubt and hope the greens are rolling better next time.
Wildcat Golf Club - The Highlands
Played On 01/04/2015Love This Golf Course
Played the Highlands - it had rained the day/night before so it was cart path only but still played in less than 5 hours on a Sunday morning. Course was in great shape, there was some standing water but the course was in no way soggy. The greens were nearly perfect and rolled fast and true. The wind was blowing so it played pretty tough but as a links style course that's expected. Booked my round for $45 on Golfnow - you'd be hard pressed to find a better value out there.
By the way, the view of NRG Stadium and downtown Houston is great from the high parts of the course.

Played On 12/30/2014A Good Course That Continues to Improve
Played on a cold day with a pretty good wind. It had rained the day before so the course was wet in places and playing cart path only. The course is a links-style and a great layout - a lot of hazards and can play long if you want (over 7000 yards from the tips) and the wind is always a factor. There was maybe one green that had a few rough spots but aside from that, the course was in good shape. The greens roll very good and are fast. Overall a great bargain (I played it for $26) and an enjoyable golf course.

Played On 12/18/2014Superb Golf Course
Booked my round through Golfnow but had trouble getting to the course in time for my tee time. Called the course and they were very accommodating - told me not to worry and I would go off whenever I arrived.
There had been a lot of rain the previous day and intermittent rain throughout this day but the course was very playable. The only place we found standing water was on the tee boxes (they were a bit wet) but the rest of the course, especially the greens, played great. The course can play quite long depending on which tees you choose to play. That said, pick the tees that set up for your game and it's a great course. Fast, undulating greens with a lot of break - not many straight putts here. Plenty of trees and hazards make for a terrific experience and a rewarding round of golf.

Played On 05/16/2014What Happened to These Greens
Booked a Friday afternoon round on GolfNow - wanted to get in a round after work. Cousre conditions were not good - lots of brown/dead spots in the fairways especially on mounds or raised areas. The greens were disappointing to say the least - very bumpy and patchy with lots of dead spots too. Might be the worst greens I have played. It's sad to see, I like the golf course but it will be a while before I return. Hopefully the course will recover.
Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia
Played On 02/25/2014Outstanding golf course but watch out for the native grass
This is a beautiful golf course in excellent condition. Can play plenty long if that's what you like - we played from the Trilogy tees (6900 yards) and the course played challenging but fair. You must avoid the native grass however; it's long and thick and balls disappear in it. Greens were in excellent shape and rolled well. The only complaint I have is a few of the bunkers were not up to the standard of the rest of the course - could have had a bit more sand in them. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend this course.
Copper Canyon Golf Club - Vista/Lake Course
Played On 02/23/2014Magnificent Greens
Not a long course but a good challenge still from the tips. The course was in superb shape and a lot of fun to play. I travel to Phoenix every year and make it a point to play this course.
The greens could not have been in better condition; not too fast but fast enough and the ball rolled perfectly. I played seven different courses on this trip - all were in great shape - but none had greens nearly as nice.
West Fork Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/23/2013Best $30 course I've played
Can't understand the negative reviews on here. Played the course just before Christmas and found it to be a great layout with very fast greens - what more could you ask for? Conditions were not optimal but not bad either.
I highly recommend this course and will definitely be back.
Pearland Golf Club
Played On 11/24/2013A few greens need attention.
Played the course on Sunday (11-24-13). The layout is fairly challenging as it is pretty tight and there are a few hazards that couldn't be seen from the tee box. Must mention however that a few greens are in bad shape and one green is in horrible shape - the greens that were in good shape rolled great and were pretty fast. Got a great price on Golfnow so wasn't too disappointed but would be hard to take if paying top price.
