River Landing at Sandy Ridge
Played On 7/26/2013Very pleasant experience
River Landing at Sandy Ridge was is really good condition when I played. Tee boxes and fairways were excellent. The greens were somewhat slow in speed, but consistent and rolled very smoothly. Although the course has only 9 holes, there are several challenges along the way that make for an enjoyable round.
Oak Hollow Golf Course
Played On 7/23/2013Course in excellent condition; great value on hot deals
Oak Hollow GC is in excellent condition. The tee boxes and fairways are pristine. The greens are good, but not great. Some greens were not consistent speed as others, which added to the challenge. If people would do a better job fixing ball marks the greens would be even better. This course has a lot of elevation changes, undulating fairways, and elevated green complexes.
The front 9 is very picturesque and the "easier" side. A few holes that run along the lake provide tremendous views. The back 9 is more challenging and the two par 5's on the back side might be two of the harder holes in the area with tight and severely sloped fairways and elevated greens.
Overall Oak Hollow is one of the top courses in the area, but you better bring your A game in order to score well.
Blair Park Golf Course
Played On 7/14/2013Good, but has been much better in recent times
Quite simply, Blair Park has gone a bit downhill in my opinion in the past couple years. Some of the fairways had large weeds growing in them and weren't cut evenly. The greens at Blair Park are small so your ball striking better be on or you'll need a very good short game to get up and down a lot. The day I played the green speeds were very slow. I've played Blair Park when course conditions were much better than this. I was disappointed to see the course in this shape, but otherwise we had an enjoyable round.
