The Saints At Port St Lucie
Played On 06/27/2021Nice for price!
Overall it's a nice course, fairly simple layout, not a whole lot of trouble, which is why I still can't grasp why pace is so slow, we waited on every single shot! My only guess would be that the rough was a little long, i even lost 3 balls that were well in play but I just couldn't find in thick stuff, and i had a real good idea exactly where they landed. Not a lot of water or trouble shots so it's not like everyone is taking drops or anything, just really slow! In my opinion the fairways are cut just a hair too short, lot of pretty thin lies, not much along the lines of a nice, cushy lie! Course was pretty soggy, we did have rain this day and for most days of the past 2 weeks. Not sure if that affects their maintenance or not, but oh well! So, after all that complaining I'm sure i will be playing there again!

Ok, course was in nice condition, but to me was much more lush than the real holes, you don't get the roll your expecting, not at all like you may see on tv where your ball rolls forever and you have to hit up short to greens and let em roll up, in fact, quite the opposite, you should attack the greens as they are very receptive, and most short shots will probably remain short. There are way too many blind shots for a course where they don't equip the carts with a gps system that shows where the carts in front of you are, or where the hole goes. For some reason you are not allowed to hit out of the long grass, if you find your ball it's a free drop, which is fine i guess, but not a real test of your game, just another thing that separates it from the real thing. Pace of play is 4hrs 25min, we were well within this pace but the ranger decided to follow us for over 3 holes, made things very uncomfortable, one of our players even left after 9 holes because of this. I played with 7 people, afterwards everyone said the same thing, i had to play because they normally charge like $100 more than what we paid, and we wanted to experience it, when asked if they would play again, nobody said yes, and everyone said definitely not at they're normal rates. The course is just designed after some famous holes, it doesn't magically take you there, you will not feel the heritage or get any kind of experience like the real thing, it's just another course and that's the feeling you get.

Played On 09/25/20191/2 course!
Wasn't told that half the course was closed until starter sent us to 1st tee, shady on behalf of both, course, and golfnow. And then find out on 1st green that the 1/2 that was open had aerated greens.
Revere Golf Club - Concord Course
Played On 07/25/2018Great layout!
One of the most beautiful courses around, lots of elevation changes, great scenery, fairways are forgiving, but what the fairways giveth, the greens taketh! Greens are receptive on the approach, but reading the line and speed are a little tricky, at least for someone who doesn't play there often. Unfortunately the regular group they have on that day wasn't prepared to start when they should have and we started around 15 minutes late, not much but when dealing with 110 plus temps it made a difference, half our group was unable to finish round. Beer in clubhouse was a little warm and completely flat.

Played On 07/11/2018It's a pete dye! Nuff said!
Condition was good, greens very fast and difficult to read, sunday pin placement on a Wednesday, but looks like there's not much more options except sunday placement, more 3 putts in our group than 3 rnds with same group at other courses.mid summer in las vegas and water cooler was bone dry, and we teed off in am. Overall nice course, maybe let greens grow out a touch to make round a little more enjoyable.
Dominick thanks for playing at Desert Pines. Thanks for the feedback on the water coolers as we try to have them changed every morning by 7am. I'll address your concern with the team. Yes the greens can be tricky. Playing the course a few times can be a big benefit as to where to land the ball on the greens. We hope to see you again soon.

Brown with patches of crabgrass! As of Sunday no longer serving food, no cart person on course! This should be a $10 practice round course, or where the hackers go!

Played On 11/22/2017A pete dye!
Layout is ok, strategic golf required, a pete dye so lots of sand and water. Guess they didn't overseed this year and it shows, fairways are flat, almost appearing compressed or steam rolled, no nice cushy lies here, the worst looking grass out here for this time of year, that I've seen.

Ok, a couple years ago this place was one of the best bang fo your buck courses around, then it was sold, now the rates have gone up considerably, and the conditions have gone downhill. Seemed to me i was paying for their fancy new carts, gps with flyover videos, extra stowage inside under roof, and the most aggravating stall control when you travel anywhere they don't want you, i.e. parking lot, desert area, etc. It lets you get in then cuts out, you have to put it in reverse to get out, but nobody tells you that when you start, you will likely see people breaking their backs trying to push them out. As far as conditions go, the greens were still ok for the most part, the fairways and rough had quite a few bald areas, many parts of fairways looked as though they hadn't been mowed in a while, about level with 1st cut of rough. Bottom line is i more than likely won't be going back there, i honestly feel it's not worth today what they used to charge prior to being sold, forever it was like $22 and that included a free drink, now the best your gonna get is like $30, and thats rare, usually $45-$65! No thank you! There's much better for that money in this town!
Thanks for leaving a comment about your experience. We’re sad to hear that you had a poor experience and we’d love the opportunity to show you that we’re improving daily!

Greens and fairways are great since remodel, Don't know grass type, but it has held up fantastic through all seasons here, difficult in the am since still soaking wet, odd to see so much standing water considering all the slope. If you can't hit a draw or at least a straight ball you may not like this course, everything slopes to the right, into the wash, while the holes tend to turn to the left, there are holes where if you hit a slight fade down the middle your ball will be lost in wash due to slope, the slope is too steep to drive carts down so if your hitting there be prepared to do some hiking, most people I've played with give up on ball if they don't see it from up top, me included. They have only one port-a-potty on each nine, and no water coolers. Price's are very fair, to be honest they are half the price they could be, hope they don't read this, lol. Best tip i can give is you don't always need driver, this is one where laying up can dramatically improve your score, not so much on par 5's, but on most of the 4's,
Thank you for the review! The Grass type is Paspalum and it is great, lasts through all the seasons!
Las Vegas National Golf Course
Played On 10/12/2016Nice layout!
Course was recently overseeded so maybe a little uncut, very wet when we started after 8, and sprinklers still going till like 5th hole, combo of wet and uncut made things a little more difficult. Par 3's are not for the timid, we played from 2nd tee and shortest was around 155. Overall i enjoyed the round and the layout, will play again!
Golf Summerlin - Highland Falls Course
Played On 05/11/2016A favorite!
One of my favorites in vegas! it is both challenging and simplicic at the same time, from any tee box, not too long or short. great for any skill level. A lot of holes have bowl shaped fairways that will bring slightly errant shots back in play, really helps those of us who are not so accurate feel good about things and have a better time out there. One thing to remember is this course is up on hill and all putts will break towards the strip, i know your saying ya no-duh but believe me its more severe than your thinking, uphill putts can be real fast and vice versa, if you see a foot break on a side hill it may just be straight, the sooner you buy into this the better your round will be! Bottom line is I've played most courses here and this one still remains at least in my top 3! Everone I've brought to play it falls in love, and can't wait to get back there and see what they can really do now that after 18 holes they finally believe in the rules of putting here, sounds easy but it's really hard to get your mind to buy into just how affected your putts will be!
Dominick6635065 Thanks so much for your review! We appreciate you taking your time to provide such thoughtful feedback. We're thrilled that you had an awesome experience with us and hope that you'll come back and play again soon! We've got two more wonderful courses that you should check out if you haven't yet! Thanks!
Boulder Creek Golf Club - Coyote Run/Eldorado Valley
Played On 04/16/2016Best bang for buck near vegas!
Great course design, only reason i give 4 stars for condition was due to spotty greens and they were a little dry, we were on the second day in a row with 30+mph winds, they rolled pretty true, but hard to hold a lot of shots. Fairways were just about perfect, sand was just about some of the best for this area, most here are so packed they're like hard pan. Somewhat difficult as a 1st timer, some ravines through faiways that are hard to see from tee, gps does show them, but still not the most comfortable feeling. Myself, along with everyone in my group agreed that for some reason things seem farther than they really are here. All in all this is a great course, and if it were in vegas it would easily be one of those $100+ courses, well worth the 20 or so minute drive. Its in a fairly wide open area but dont think for a moment the course is wide open, it requires a little more skill than the grip it and rip it mentality, use the gps and choose landing areas with a little bit of thought.
Durango Hills Golf Course
Played On 02/27/2016Pretty bad!
Greens were in terrible condition! And for a course with 14 par 3's it's mostly about the greens! It tokk us 3 hrs and 40 min to play 18! Do i need to say more?
Boulder City Municipal Golf Course
Played On 10/15/2015Nice course, but wait!
I like the course, nice layout, good condition. Only dislikes are, no coolers, no cart girl, only relief are water jugs on course and clubhouse after 9, but be careful, its not exactly right there between 9 and 10 so you could lose your position. The other thing I dislike is the pace of play, I played 2 days in a row, 1 early am and 1 early pm, we waited on every hole and every shot, no kidding, 2 full rounds of waiting on every shot! Some will hate me for this but oh well, I think walkers should be banned! Defend it all you want but fact is they slow pace down considerably! And there are quite a few out here.
Aliante Golf Course
Played On 09/05/2015just OK!
Had to wait over 30 minutes for a cart to charge, then had to swap for another after 9 holes. Like almost every other course out here the sand traps are garbage! The layout is OK, couple blind hazards. Condition was fairly common for the area this time of year as they let it dry out to prepare for over seeding. Greens were fast, yet receptive, and what would be considered on the larger size. Overall it was a decent course and I would probably go back as long as rate is right, and hopefully they have more carts.
Arroyo Golf Club
Played On 07/29/2015Nice course!
Somewhat of a challenge for a 1st timer, some blind shots that were frustrating, like trying to find a good layup area, either gotta drive up to see, or just shoot and hope for the best, no gps, and map on scorecard didnt help, yardage markers were on cartpath and sprinkler heads so that waste time trying to figure out, usually doesnt matter to me as long as i can see where im going. Things are really spread out here, range is little drive from clubhouse, then 1st tee is like a half mile from there, most holes have a little drive between, forget using restroom on 1st side, its off the beaten path and your likely to lose your spot on the course, you never go back to clubhouse till 18, so pack a lunch. Pace of play would have been ok except for the typical male testosterone in front of us that insisted on playing from the back tees, the only times he even hit it far enough to reach the fairway, it was crooked anyway. Overall it is a nice course, i may go back as long as deals are good. Only advice would be if your waiting anyway, drive up and see what your shooting at.
Canyon/Lakes at Spanish Trail Country Club
Played On 07/16/2015Great layout!
i only give 4 stars because it's summer, i'm sure the rest of the year it's a 5 star, there were a few holes with sprinklers going on some brown patches that made for some mushy areas. Very nice layout with risk/reward options, we played the whites and it was plenty long for me, i generally drive it in the 280 range, left me different clubs on approach unlike a lot of places where it's just driver and wedge. There's plenty of room for mistakes, however, i recommend trying for fairway, the ruff is penalizing, it will kill your ball, and it's not the easiest to play from. Par 3's are mostly in the mid to long range, none of those little 90 yarders. We play auto fluff in the sand out here because out here all the sand is compacted to the point where it's like hitting from the cartpath, this place was no different except the fact that the sand is more of that crushed pebble type. The greens were soft in feel and pretty receptive, putting was a real challenge though, not a lot of straight putts. They do force you to buy 2 waters and range balls for $5, i don't mind that, but why not just put it in the price instead of putting people on the spot like they do, it can start your round with a bad taste. All in all we had a good time and will definately be going back.
Desert Pines Golf Club
Played On 06/25/2015Carolinas? I think not!
Course was ok for the $25 i paid, but if i had to pay theyre normal rates i would rate a 1. They make a point of bragging about theyre pine tree lined fairways, and white fluffy carolina sand, i didnt see all that, there were trees, however, for the most part they are well off the fairways, and the sand was far from white, and even further from fluffy, standard stuff for area, about a 1/4 inch down its like hardpan. Course itself was in ok condition. If i had to guess i would say one of pete dyes least challenging courses, bottom line is, i wasnt transformed to the carolinas as promised, and i think its a safe bet that i wont b going back anytime soon, theres way too many better courses in area for less money.
The Legacy Golf Club
Played On 06/10/2015Great course!
One of my favorite courses in the area, unfortunately, i dont get to play there very often because of rates i cant afford without the help of golfnow. Its just a really nice layout, ups and downs, side to sides, very well maintained, and its in a beautiful area. Greens were recently sanded but still played ok, not full of massive holes. Huge difference in distance, and scenery between front and back tees.
Los Prados Golf Course
Played On 03/12/2015Horrible!
Pace of play was the worst i've ever seen! And i've seen some bad stuff! No starter when i played, waited from hole one, then on every hole after, design creates havoc on 5-6 and from there it never recovers, waited for 1-3 groups from then on, had 4 1/2 hrs of daylight and didn't finish. Few drivable par 4s for people who can really drive, however, mostly elderly people who bareley clear the next tee box but insist on waiting for the green to clear before teeing off. Bottom line is this was the worst round of golf my group had ever experienced, definately not worth your time or money. I wouldn't even play it again for free!
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Royal Links Golf Club. We hope to see you again in the future.
